5 Must-have Exotics you should get for Destiny 2: The Final Form

For anyone looking to make some last minute preparations for The Final Form, today you’re in for a treat. While there’s a lot of new stuff coming with next week’s expansion, there’s also a lot of old dogs learning some new tricks.

What exotics should we get before the launch of The Final Shape?

In preparation, Bungie has released upcoming changes in The Final Shape’s sandbox, specifically around existing Exotic weapons and armor pieces. While there are, of course, some nerfs on the horizon, there are quite a few exotics that are confirmed to be getting subscriptions or reworks that will greatly increase their effectiveness going forward.

To help out any Guardians trying to figure out their builds for TFS, here’s a list of five select exotics that I highly recommend giving some attention to. This list will go over one armor for each class and two weapons.

Ballidorse Wrathweavers – Warlock Arms

First is the Ballidorse Wrathweavers for Wizards. These Stasis-themed gauntlets were released in Lightfall with the goal of giving the Winter’s Wrath super more power and utility at the same time. Specifically, Wrath’s heavy pulse attack would do more shattering damage, and all allies would get 4x Stasis Weapon Surge and a free super shield. The extra buffs can also be applied by casting a Rift with the Frostpulse aspect equipped.

In The Final Form, the Wrathweavers will get a slight rework to the shield part in spec. Instead of giving supershields, the Pulse of Winter’s Wrath and Frostpulse Rift will give maximum stacks of Frost Armor. With the maximum stack limit going up to eight, casting both abilities will give you and your friends a huge boost. 36% damage reduction in PvE and 16% in PvP. This damage reduction can be raised even higher with the Whisper of Rime a fragment that will increase the maximum stacks of Frost Armor you can get.

We Wizards may have lost our defensive options in Well, but we certainly still have options for some support. If any of you can tear yourself away from Prismatic for a bit, this Exotic absolutely justifies running Stasis more.

The Horn of Khepri – Titan Helmet

Titans, warm up with some Solar jokes. The Horn of Khepri helmet may finally see some real use as it gets some much needed fanfare with the launch of The Final Form. Originally, this Year 1 Exotic allowed Titans to fire a Solar Blast while throwing their Barricades… and that was about it. It sounds useful, sure, but it’s not enough to justify this helmet over other powerups like the Loreley Splendor or Pyrogale Gauntlets.

Bungie saw an opportunity to make this Exotic more practical and chose to strengthen the solar Barricade burst in a number of ways. The explosion will now deal 100% more damage in PvEAND it will be apply Scorch for every blow it lands on some enemies. If that wasn’t enough, Bungie also specified that the Horn of Khepri would benefit from the Ember of Eruption and Ember of Ashes fragments. Needless to say, Solar Titans will have it so good.

Renewal Grasps – Hunter Weapons

Going back to Stasis, Hunters should absolutely watch the Renewal Grasps when The Final Form falls. Coming from The Witch Queen, these gloves allow you to use the Duskfield grenades to give you some breathing room with defensive buffs.

Similar to the Wrathweavers, this Exotic will also be reworked to focus on the new Frost Armor buff Here you will build stacks of Frost Armor over time while standing in your Duskfield Grenades.

This is WAY more useful than you might think because Duskfields is the Stasis grenade for the Hunter Prismatic Arsenal. So, imagine rocking these gloves – pairing Frost Armor with Stylish Executioner to get free Void buffs, which will then make it easier for you to just charge into the next fight and wreak havoc with Stasis and Void that refresh your buffs EVEN MORE. It’s a beautiful cycle of deception and destruction that every Hunter dreams of causing.

Outbreak Perfected – Kinetic Pulse Rifle

With Pantheon coming to an end and The Final Form looming just around the corner, it is very important to draw attention to the glorious Outbreak Perfected. Recently, this SiVA powered Pulse Rifle was reintroduced as a craftable Exotictucked away with updates in the return Zero Hour Exotic Mission. And with it, we have new perks that can be put in to compliment any playstyle, like Quick Hit and Rewind Circles. Couple that with the internal stat buffs that can be gained through the mission itself, and you have a monster of a gun.

Now, what if I told you everything Pulse Rifles will take 20% damage in PvE when will The Final Form launch? Because that’s exactly what comes to every Pulse Rifle with the incoming sandbox changes. Epidemic has already proven itself time and time again as the ultimate ad-busting, boss-melting machine that anyone can use, and now it’s about to get even stronger. In addition to that, Bungie also stated that to deal with any Kinetic damage will generate Light and Dark energy at the same time for the new Prism subclasses. Outbreak Perfected is going to be an absolute game changer very soon, so get ready to start crafting your rolls.

Deterministic Chaos – Heavy Empty Machine Gun

Our last Exotic on the docket today is the Deterministic ChaosA machine gun that is awarded through the Unfinished Business quest in Lightfall. In truth, this gun was launched in a sorry state, with benefits that took too long to reap any real benefits. You had to fire four shots to Weaken your target, and then wait for four Weaken shots to get a single Volatile blast. Why burn through more than half your magazine to get one Volatile blast when a Graviton Lance can give you 30 blasts in two shots? Fortunately, that will change with The Final Form.

Bungie announced that Debilitating and Volatile shots from Deterministic Chaos will be swapped around Now, you will apply Volatile on every fourth shotand then apply Weak with your fourth Volatile blast. Thus, you get more damage complimented by some detractors. With Prismatic subclasses on the way, Deterministic Chaos is set to fit nicely into the arsenals of any Keeper of Light and Dark.

And now you have your shopping list! With The Final Form releasing in just a few days, people are either anxiously waiting or frantically preparing for the arrival of June 3rd. As you have seen, there are some treats for everyone in this expansion. More than enough for you to write your own destiny with. Good luck out there, Rangers- We’ll see you in the Pale Heart!
