All Animal Food Recipes in Zookoz and how to make food
When it comes to preparing food for the animals in each of the enclosures in Zoochosis, there are some important steps to consider. The tutorial briefly explains how the process works, but leaves the rest up to you to figure out as you play. However, we have provided an easy to follow guide that shows you all the animal food recipes in Zoochosis and how to make food.
How to make food for animals in Zoochosis
First of all, food in the game is made of Food Bars which are stored in the Cold Room area of the hub (as seen above) which the Doc shows you during the Tutorial. To access the Cold Room, you must unload the Brick Trolley of the train (if it isn’t already) and push it down the road until it opens the doors to the freezer. Inside, you’ll find Snack Bars in containers for all of the following categories:
- a vegetable
- Herbal
- Fishes
- meat
It is important to note that each type of food is available in limited quantities during the game. As indicated by the numbers on the wall next to each cargo bin, you start the game with access to 20 KG of each type of food (except Meat). If the bin runs out, you can pull the level onto the wall next to it to restock it with more, but the number will drop as you do so. So be sure to use them wisely.
Before you go to a new animal enclosure, be sure to collect the food bars you need to make their specific food. Load them onto the Brick Trolley and push it back to the train. Pull the Brick Trolley level onto the side of the train to load it inside, then board the train. We suggest preparing your food before you go to the surroundingsin case of any errors and to save you time.
All food is prepared at the Station Kitchen Factory on the train (as seen above), and what you loaded onto the Brick Trolley is the supply you will have access to.
Interact with the computer above the counter to start, and you’ll see a menu listing all the zoo’s animal species on the left followed by the ingredients needed for their food. The ‘Deviation’ column on the right refers to the a limit to which you can either exceed or decrease the approved portion of food. If you exceed the allowed deviation percentage for the recipe, the food can make the animals sick.
Select the animal you want to make food for, and the recipe will be listed in the middle of the screen. When you’re ready, click ‘cook’ and choose what type of brick you want to cut first. Choose ‘Cut’ and the brick will be placed on the counter, with a red laser indicating where you will cut.
Important: Slide the part of the brick you want to use to eat the RIGHT side of the cutting blade. What’s left is what’s left.
The computer will indicate how much of that brick is needed, and the total weight of the brick itself below it. Estimate as close as possible to that requirement and then cut to put it in the mix. Your deviation percentage will be noted later. If you manage to get 0.00% deviation after cutting, you can unlock the ‘Food Ninja’ achievement.
Remember that you don’t need to do this for every single animal in an enclosure, you only need to make one batch of food for the entire enclosure as it will automatically feed everyone. Once you’ve fed them, you can continue to get the samples and readings you need.
How to feed mutated animals in Zoochosis
The other tab on the computer at the Kitchen Factory station is related to the recipes for various mutated variants of animals, once you have advanced enough in the game. You’ll notice that they all require meat, which is also indicated in Anthony Hapwood’s diskette recordings.
These are the only recipes that require meat, and it only serves to calm (or distract) the mutated animals while you decide whether to euthanize them or cure their condition.
