Anime Defenders players are not happy about Athenyx Realm in Update 5
Fans of the popular Roblox experience Anime Defenders have expressed their frustration with the latest Athenyx Realm in Update 5. They think the game is unbalanced and pay-to-win. Because of this, fans are proposing solutions that would improve the game.
One fan, Savage Wind, has no idea what developers should change in Anime Defenders. He posted his suggestions on the game’s official Discord server, drawing support from fans.
One of the most requested features by the community is the introduction of x2 Speed option. Fans argue that the progression is too slow, which makes the game boring and frustrating. “Stop being so hungry for premiums; you get enough,” Savage Wind commented, highlighting the developers’ focus on monetization. This is not an unreasonable request, as it is possible to speed up the match in many other Roblox tower defense titles.
That’s why I’m with fans on this, because speedup is an important option in tower defense games. Grinding levels with little to do, especially if it’s endless mode, is no fun if you ask me.
Another thing that rubs fans the wrong way is the lack of a Secret Pity system for the Athenyx units. According to Savage Wind and other players, grinding for new units is difficult and tedious. As if that’s not enough, the draw chances for secret units are slim, making the absence of a mercy system unfair. “You guys even said in an announcement that there would be a secret mercy. You can’t just promise something and not deliver it,” commented a fan, urging the developers to keep their promises.
The community is also demanding changes to the “just one unit” challenge. According to players, some maps are almost impossible without owning The Gamer secret unit, which limits gameplay for those without it. Savage Wind, supported by other fans, offers a solution to limit the challenge to only one enemy type instead of requiring one unit to handle ground, lair and flying enemies at the same time.
Token grinding is another area where players are looking for improvements. Fans describe the current method as “boring and time consuming”, with minimal rewards compared to the effort. They suggest that developers allow players to receive tokens as rewards, making the grind less monotonous.
To further help players, Savage Wind encourages all Athenyx content to count towards daily and weekly quests. For some reason, everything you do in the Athenyx realm doesn’t count towards those rewards.
As if that’s not enough, players aren’t satisfied with new Athenyx units because they don’t offer much, even though they’re hard to come by. In fact, fans don’t think it’s worth the effort to unlock them, old units, especially Mythics, have better stats.
The developers of Anime Defenders have not yet responded to these concerns. Anime Defenders developers stated earlier that they respect players’ opinions, going as far as organizing voting and letting fans decide on the new game content. They will decide if the fan base is right and if the next update implements some of these ideas.
