To get all the achievements in the game, you have to find all the shells and wear them. However, you won't use all of them in your gameplay, as some are pretty useless or there are better versions of them. Yoccult Shell in Another Crab's Treasure
Yoccult Shell was my personal favorite throughout the game and carried me through many boss fights. It is average weight so it doesn't affect your evasion skills much, and it's a sturdy shell that can take quite a few hits before it is broken.
This shell is very useful because it can heal you. It doesn't even use up the skin's health. As long as it is on your backyou can heal yourself whenever you have Umami charges.
The better version of this shell is the Pill Bottlebut you only encounter it quite late in the game, while the Yoccult Shell can be found in places after the Sands Betweenmaking it more accessible.

Cascadia Roll Shell in Another Crab's Treasure
Cascadia Roll is another great one healing peel. Although I prefer Yoccult, Cascadia can be very useful in a league. This is a shell that wants take down one's own health to heal you. Although it can wear out pretty quickly, this roll can too boosts your Umami damage.
It works great in combat as a momentary shell to heal yourself quickly and then switch to a different shell that you can find nearby. You can also switch to the Snail Sanctum shell which is made of Umami and you get this shell after you defeat the Fake Moon boss in the Unfathom, once your crew and Roland will fall down the Drain.
Cascadia Rolls are prevalent in the Expired Grove area, especially in Curdled Village and Village Gates areas, but you will also be able to find them randomly in other areas later.
Soda Can Shell in Another Crab's Treasure
Soda Can shell can be found in the early game environment already and it has one of the best attack skills. It releases compressed air in the form of bubbles which will target the nearest enemy. If you're in danger in close combat, you can use this to disengage and heal.
It doesn't have much health, but it is quite common, so you can usually find many of them in the area. The Valve shell has the same ability and much more health, but it is heavy, which greatly affects your evasion skills. That's why I stick to the Soda for more mobility at the price of less health.
Gacha Capsule Shell in Another Crab's Treasure
The Gacha Capsule is a light shell with little health but great abilities. It can roll quickly to to cover great distances and to do damage to enemies if you hit them. You can use this ability to dodge attacks that you cannot dodge otherwise or simply attack the enemy head on.
Once you use the rolling ability, you're pretty much done invulnerable, which is useful in boss fights. I found this to be one of the best shells to use in the fight against Roland. If you can handle the speed, then this shell is perfect for you.
These shells appear the first time you go against Rolando and after that you can find it anywhere.

Tissue Box Shell in Another Crab's Treasure
A must in all Flotsam Vale gunk, the Tissue Box Shell will remove all negative effects of you as gunked, which slows you down and lowers your health. In addition to just removing the effects, the box will do as well boost your health a little. This is a heavy shellhowever, consider that dodging abilities will be limited.
You can find the Cloth Box trans Flotsambut they will be available in other areas as well.
Rubber Duck Shell in Another Crab's Treasure
If you're swarmed by enemies (which they love to do) and start to panic, then the Rubber Duck Shell is what you need. When you use it decoy ability, it will jump off your back and aggregate all enemies for a short time until it is destroyed. This is mostly a one-time shell to get out of dangerous situations, so give it a try research backup nearby.
The Duck is available in Flotsam Valley first, but you can find it everywhere later.
