Best stowaways in Another Crab's Treasure

Another Crab's Treasure is Animated with several different ways to upgrade your Krill. You can change his shell, upgrade his weapon and even get special powers from stowaways you pick up while searching the world.

Another Crab's Treasure Stowaway, ranked

There are a total of 68 stowaways that you can find in Another Crab's Treasure, and many of them are great depending on how you like to play the game. However, I found 10 of these little day-long friends to be particularly helpful during my playthrough.

10. Used Bandage and Used Bandage +

The damage used boosts your healing items, which is a great buff in the early game. I like to trade this one in before eating Heart Kelp when my health is low, but I didn't leave it on all the time. This can help you get through poisoning and other DoT effects.

9. Whelk, Whelk+, and Whelk++

If you focus on Umami/MSG build, the Whelk is extremely powerful. It adds additional damage to your shell spells. The Whelk raises it by 15%, the + by 30%, and the ++ by 45%, which can make a huge difference in the amount of damage your build deals. I ended up not focusing on Umami, but this was one of the best stowaways I found for such a build.

8. Another Crab

Another Crab is always good to have in your back pocket if you come upon a particularly dangerous area that you just want to run through. Another Crab dies in your place, giving you a second chance at life while equipped.

7. Sponge and Sponge+

The Sponges are both wonderful for Umami building; whenever you attack, you regain Umami. Sponge gives 33% regeneration, and the Sponge+ gives you 67% back for each attack. If you're hoping to hit your Umami powers time and time again, the Sponge is a must.

6. Lanternfish

I actually missed this shiny little friend on my first run through the Unfathom, which made it difficult to get through, and I think that's what made me put the Lanternfish on this list. The second time through the Unfathom was much easier as I could see what was going on around me. This fish friend also fights alongside you and helps you deal damage to your enemies.

5. Sea cucumber

The Sea cucumber is just a perfectly good piece of equipment when you don't know what's coming next. It gives you a boost to all your stats and is a fantastic filler for if you have a sneaking slot that you don't know what to put in it.

4. Sinker

Balance in Another Crab's Treasure is the equivalent of Pose or Posture in other Souls-like games. Breaking a creature's Balance will stun it. So if you use the hammer in conjunction with heavy attacks, you can knock even the biggest enemies into losing their composure and getting stunned much more often with the Sinker. It's mostly for an attack-focused build, which was my favorite in my time under the sea.

3. Rubber Band

I found the Rubber Band to be very useful whenever I found something with the ability to shock my Krill. While I didn't use it throughout the game, I tended to put it on whenever electricity was going to be an issue, and it prevented all kinds of damage and deaths, turning powerful bosses and enemies into easy fights.

2. Lampray and Lampray +

I moderated my entire build around the hammer, and the Lamprey stowaways were incredibly powerful for it. If you have a focused attack build, the extra health drain will let you destroy most enemies in just one or two hits. 7% might not seem like much, but it really starts to add up as soon as you pile points into an attack and focus on dealing as much damage as possible with each hit.

1. Fruit Sticker and Fruit Sticker +

My best overall stowaway is the Fruit Stickers. Both of these increase the number of microplastics you earn in Another Crab's Treasure, which is the main currency you'll need for clothing, upgrades, shell insurance, and anything else you want to buy. I had this one for basically the entire game, just replacing the Fruit Sticker with the Fruit Sticker+ when I found it. This is definitely the most useful stowaway in the entire game.
