Best Thieves and builds in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Not everyone can be a great hero who fights the enemies; some of us prefer a more stealthy approach. That’s why I made a guide to the best Thieves and builds in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Thief skills and builds Guide

Thief is a character that relies on speed, agility and devastating critical attacks. Thieves are pretty weak when it comes to damage, so they need to be paired with a class that can tank well and guard them while they flank the opposing force.
In Dragon’s Dogma 2, builds are determined by Augment layouts, and the four active abilities. Sometimes you can choose Augments for other Vokies, such as a Warrior. What follows are the best skills you can use for Thief and the best builds based on Augments and skills.

Best Thieves in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Thieves can be divided into two main groups: Core Skills and Weapon skills. Core Skills are, simply put, all skills that are not associated with weapon combat. The best Core Skills for Thief are as follows:

  • Bump and Liv – This Skill allows for easy pickpocketing which is great for farming gold and stuff.
  • Controlled Fall – Reduces fall damage after the Thief is knocked back, and makes him get up quickly.
  • Scarlett Kisses – Deals more damage with multiple slashes. Does not drain stamina.

On the other hand, Weapon Skills are pretty self-explanatory. Here are the best Thief Weapons in Dragon’s Dogma 2:

  • Biting Wind – This is a moving attack that deals a lot of damage and can be used repeatedly. This skill is mandatory for a Thief.
  • Concussive Step – It is very easy to install, but also not very reliable, depending on the situation.
  • Trap – Easy to use, long range, and great against flying enemies.
  • Helm Splitter – Good against bosses and other large enemies, due to the ability to hit multiple times.
  • Shadow Cloak – Makes stealth much easier, makes you invisible but drains stamina when active.

Best Augments for Thief in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Augments are passive perks that you can unlock by building Vokis. You can equip six augmentations at once, one for each Summoning. We recommend the following Augments for Thief in Dragon’s Dogma 2:

  • Greed – Raise your Archer Vocation to level nine, and you will be able to climb structures, cliffs and enemies more effectively.
  • Endurance – You need Archer Vocation for level four, and it increases the maximum Endurance of the player.
  • Exaltation – Upgrade your Mage Vocation to level nine, and this Augment will increase your Stamina recovery.
  • Verve – Get your Thief Summoning to level nine, and this Augment will increase your Strength.
  • Gluttony – This one requires the Magick Archer Vocation raised to fourth level. This Augment replenishes some of a Thief’s HP after he takes a killing blow.
  • Zeal – Level your Warrior Summons to level six to unlock Zeal, and you’ll get reduced Stamina usage when using your Weapon Skills.
