Location of Fisch’s Northern Summit (How to Find the Northern Expedition)
To get to the new island, you need to find the marker in your game that says “Northern Expedition“and sail to it. You can find in between Terrapin Island and the Forsaken Shoresat coordinates (-1730, 138, 3824). Sail south-southwest of Moosewood and you will find the portal. Upon entering the portal, you will be transported to a new ocean with only two signs – Northern Expedition and Expedition Exit. Sail to the Northern Expedition and you will quickly find the “North Peak“, which is the island for this update.
Exploring the North Summit in Fisch
After reaching the island, you will notice that there is no pier to dock your boat. You will probably leave your boat in the ice before making your way inland. Your first priority should be to buy a Basic Oxygen Tank for 1,000 C$which is next to the NPC to the right of the Merchant. This will allow you to survive the higher elevations of the mountain where oxygen levels begin to drop.
Here is a guide that will take you up the North Peak and into the other areas of the mountain:
Step 1: Crossing the North Peak
Take the path to the left that leads across ladders and ice. Follow the path up the mountain, keeping an eye out for ladders that act as markers for the path.
When you see the second camp (the first is the one where you bought your Basic Oxygen Tank), take the unimportant left find more ladders to climb, and then turn right to a ramp which cuts up the front of the mountain.
Go up the ramp to find more ladders climb, and then continue across the platform. It’s a strange thing fall on the road here from that it is easy to fall if you jump. Use your glider cross it so you don’t fall – it doesn’t look like you should, but I managed to fall back down the mountain and it’s tedious to go back up.
Around the corner of the mountain road, is real gap that you will need your glider to cross I advise turning your camera to look at the jump directly so you can time it correctly. After the gap, there are a couple more laddersand then you will be alerted that you have entered the Overgrowth Caverns.
Step 2: The Overgrowth Caverns
There is a camp on the left side of the mountain here that has a Pickaxe for C$5,000, an Oxygen Tank Upgrade for C$3,000, and a free Oxygen Refil. You can’t waste time in any area from here either. You now have Oxygen meter and a temperature meter. If both reach zero, you will to die and to be reborn.
Go to the left of this camp and break down the entrance to the cave with your new Pickaxe. The light from your lantern somehow melts the ice on a lever, which you can then interact with. This is one of six levers in the North Summit that you will need to activate.
Go back to the clearing, refill your oxygen tankand stand by the fire. This is a much faster way to refill your gauges than constantly leaving the area (which you can do by backtracking under the ladders that lead to the Overgrowth Caverns).
Go back to the entrance to the area, and take the road on the right using the a ladder. Climb the rocks to the cliff and to use your Glider to cross the huge gap. Follow the path and the rope fences until you reach the next camp.
Here, you will find an medium Oxygen tankas well as the Pointed Wand. Grab the tank and continue climbing. Take the ladders to the right find an NPC selling the Winter Coat for 7,500 C$. This buys your temperature gauge from falling.
Go back to the path and take the ramp to continue up the mountain.
Step 3: The Cryogenic Channel
The path will take you to the Cryogenic Channelwhich is the third area in the North Summit.
