You will find the Dark Catacombs entrance to the southeast of the Recluses’ River Downstream Sight of Grace. If you haven’t found that POI you can access it from the Shadow Keep directly north of the map. You’ll have to do a lot of parkour, but with a little luck and our map coordinates, you’ll find the entrance in no time.

Darklight Catacombs Walkthrough in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree

Go forward to find a dark room with a corridor on the right and some shiny loot straight ahead. If you’ve spent any time in Elden Ring up to this point, you know that dungeons contain countless ambushes so keep an eye out for the Imp statue on the left (shown in image #2) as you grab the Seriously Glovewart 5 (image #4). Continue by taking the nearby corridor, which leads you to a large balcony with a tunnel on the left—you can see our first objective if you spend a moment on the balcony: a nearby lever (image #5).

Continue forward (image #6) until you reach a room with two statue imps waiting to return you to the nearest Place of Grace (image #7 above). You’re going to attack the first one right away, so we recommend backing it up and luring it into a 1v1 situation before you tackle the second one. When you dispatch both enemies, you’ll find a short staircase that leads to a tunnel on the right (image #8); be warned that the Big mouth an enemy here ejects explosive fireballs at surprising speed. Also notice that directly behind you and directly below the stairs is a room that leads to the elevator we saw on the balcony (shown in picture #9).

First, take down the Big Mouth and then return to activate the lever and bring some much needed light (image #11) to the gloomy walls. Now that there is a little more light, you can return to the straight and narrow path down the corridor where you will find a ladder.

  • Clues showing a hidden enemy and nearby wizard in Shadow of the Erdtree
  • Grave Glovewort 1 in Shadow of the Erdtree
  • Second Darklight Catacombs elevator in Shadow of the Erdtree

At the bottom of the ladder, there is an Imp Statue on the right (image #1); quickly dispatch the enemy and move to the second ladder. Before you jump into battle, note the Imp Statue on the wall to the right waiting for you to drop. However, there is also a wizard on the left who will fill you with flint magic in the meantime (image #2 above). I recommend jumping down and heading to the a wizard then returning for the Imp Statue. In the center of the room you will also find a Major Gauntlet 1 (image #3) as spoils of war. Continue forward and you’ll find an elevator (image #4) that will lead to the next section of the dungeon.

When you leave the elevator and enter the dark room, you will notice a lever out of arms reach (picture #1), an enemy waiting for a fight, and a room to the left with some tasty loot. Go left first (shown in image #2), but watch out for the Imp Statue preparing to ambush you. This time you will be rewarded with a Ghost Glovewort 2 (image #3) for your troubles.

Once you’ve explored that small room to your heart’s content, head back to the main area and take the only path forward where the Imp Statue is waiting Kill the Imp and you’ll find three paths (image #4). The first takes you down to your left and should be ignored for now; the second and third lead in the same direction, so pick one and enter. Behind one of the giant pillars you will find a ladder (shown in image #5) which will lead to the lever we spotted earlier. Climb the ladder and turn left then follow the path until you find the mechanism (image #6) to turn on the lights. Now you can take the first path, which will lead you to the third elevator of the dungeon (image #8).

Giant Big Mouth Imp Boss Guide – Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree

Your first introduction to the a giant Big Mouth statue should be met with horror (image #1). This abomination will one shot you and will continue to rain down hellfire on you, but before we can deal with the monster we need to take care of a few additions. Once you’ve strengthened yourself for the next battle, rush to the giant creature and go a little to the left. You’ll notice that Big Mouth can’t be reached at this time, so do your best to ignore it and focus on the two Imp Statues guarding its base (image #2). Dispatch the creatures and turn around and run back to where you came from. Here you’ll notice a hidden room (shown in image #3) with another Imp creature and some loot. Kill the Imp and claim the Ghost glove 8 (image #4) for your troubles.

Re-enter the arena with a Big Mouth and follow the path to the left (image #5) where a room sits with a single lever inside. Crank the lever (shown in image #6) and the entire dungeon will light up and mark the last lever we have to pull. Leave the room to notice the Big Mouth Imp is now in boxing distance, so take your biggest sword and kill the monster (image #7). He is a very simple kill now that you can get under his legs and basically perma-wiggle him. You will get the Great Phantom Glovemaker (image #8) for your endgame call.

Now that Big Mouth is dead, you might notice a chest and a hidden room (image #9 above) become accessible with a short jump. Dive off the edge and land safely on the other side and know that you are completely safe from enemies in this section; loot the chest to get the Big Mouth Imp summoning ash (image #10). I have yet to try this summon myself but I bet these will be a very fun toy to play with. To exit this room, just turn around and climb the nearby ladder (pic #11) then follow the corridor to a short drop down where you can descend the final stairs to the last elevator (pic #12).

At the bottom of the final elevator, you’ll find the familiar golden mist (image #13), which indicates an upcoming boss battle.

How to defeat Jori, an elder inquisitor in Shadow of the Erdtree

Video from Pro Game Guides

Jori the Elder Inquisitor is a little annoying but can be defeated without too much trouble. My strategy depended on my army of Greatshield Soldier +10 a call to keep the boss’s attention away from me so I can fight unhindered. i use Rallana’s Twin Moon blades in this battle and utilizes the high sway of its special ability (giant fire tornado).

During the fight, Jori pulls out a few different tricks to keep you on your toes—randomly teleportation tricks, summoning other monsters to clog the battlefield, and a a host of holy spells to rip through your health bar. Jori’s teleportation seems to happen after they sustain a large amount of damage; be warned that when Jori teleports they send a holy shock that hurts anything in melee range. At points in the fight the boss will spawn a lot of enemies to take you down, but hitting Jori will cancel the summon after a short delay. So make sure you always chase the boss and keep the pressure on.

With these notes in mind, you shouldn’t have too much trouble with Jori and you’ll clear them in a few tries at most. If you’re still struggling, try looking for some Scadutree Fragments to increase your damage to absurd levels.
