Delta Force makes its “tactical” comeback after a decade
If you liked shooting games in the late 90s and early 2000s, you most likely heard of Delta Force. This popular game franchise is finally being rebooted and is making a grand comeback years later.
Delta Force: Hawk Ops arrives in late 2024
Delta Force: Hawk Ops will be a free-to-play FPS that carries forward the legacy of the forgotten series and hopefully revives it. Being developed by TiMi Studio and Team Jade, the game will be available on several platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
The most recent trailer for the game was presented during the 2024 Summer Game Fest. The first half of the trailer shows actual gameplay of a chapter of the Delta Force: Hawk Ops campaign. It gave us a rough idea of the game’s mechanics, weapons and environment, but I can’t wait to see more.
The second half of the trailer gets even more interesting when the Battle of Mogadishu sequence takes over. This will also be a campaign mission in the game that takes place in 1993 Somalia, inspired directly by the success of 2003 Delta Force: Black Hawk Down. It’s no surprise to me that the developers are relying a little on nostalgia, but the success of the game will only be determined by the players.
Delta Force: Hawk Ops is set in the modern era and will feature a variety of operators, weapons, vehicles and game modes.
