Destiny 2 Exotic Class Items, Explained
Destiny 2's gameplay has been stagnant for a while; however, it is apparent that the game has ambitious plans for the future with The Final Form. Below, I will explain what exotic class items are and how they are used.
What are the Exotic Class Items and the Prism subclass in Destiny 2?
During the Final Shape Developer Gameplay Preview, the Destiny 2 developers revealed a brand new subclass that combines the powers of Light and Dark as Guardians pursue the Witness into the Traveler's Pale Heart. The Prismatic subclass will combine several elements to create an advanced subclass with increased customization options, additional fragments and fragment slots.

Players will also be able to obtain an exotic class item to complete it. The exotic class item will randomly roll two exotic benefits from other existing exotics, even those not originally intended for your character's class. So, Hunter's cloaks, Titan's marks and Warlock's bindings will all have randomized exotic-level perks borrowed from each other, enhancing customizability to a new level. Titans will be able to use Hunter's perks, Wizards will steal from Hunters, and the possibilities are endless.
This can get you excited or worried because the combinations could potentially disrupt your entire gaming experience. This is what Bungie wants, though. They want the game to feel broken. If you remember, we've had a lot of broken updates and patches over the last year, such as the weapon glitch we experienced. It just made the game a lot more fun for everyone, so it's safe to say they took some inspiration.
