When is Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree going out?
If you weren’t already aware, Shadow of the Erdtree is looking to be one of the greatest expansions in recent game memory. It has been in development for two years now and boasts a size as large as some of the largest regions in the core game. However, it will show more at the same time focused and granular gameplay experience, even bringing its own leveling system.
For players itching to travel to the Lands of Shadow (the dark sister region of the Lands Between), Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree will arrive on Friday, June 21, 2024. It’s time to cancel all those weekend plans.
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree countdown
In what could be frustrating news for die-hard Elden Ring fans, FromSoftware has yet to give an exact release time for global regions for the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. So just to be safe, we set ours countdown to midnight CT (central time):
The Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC will be available on Steam, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S. If you haven’t finished the base game yet (like myself) – don’t worry. While the DLC requires the base game to be installed, it has its own own progression system which will work independently of the base game, so you can jump right into it as soon as it becomes available.
What is included in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree?
It was recently revealed that Shadow of the Erdtree will introduce a bunch of new weapons and weapon types to the game, including even a martial arts style focused on. hand to hand (and foot-to-foot) combat. Given that the DLC will also build the Elden Ring’s diverse array of enemies by introduction more scary and powerful versions of the game’s birds, ghosts and knights (as well as 10 new bosses) – this new martial arts focus is sure to make for some memorable moments.
