Final Fantasy XIV’s ongoing run of special events continues this week with the surprise return of the Dragon Quest X co-op event. Despite its long hiatus, this event has some pretty interesting rewards for players to get, so here’s our handy guide to how to get them
How to complete the FFXIV Dragon Quest X co-op event and get rewards
According to the Lodestone announcementlike its previous iterations, Dragon Quest X collaborative event quest line starts in the same place of Ul’dah – Steps of Nald. From the main ethernet, go left along the main street and look for a Lalafell NPC named Havak Alvak near the Chocobo Post at (X:12.1, Y:8.2). They will have a quest for you to pick up called “Breaking Brick Mountains”.
From there, you’ll be tasked with searching for various golem sites around Thanalan, The Nosceaand The Shroud, where special FATOs will appear. Complete any number of these open world challenges with a DoW/DoM combat job and you’ll then gain access to special event rewards from the Toghie NPC vendor (X:8.2, Y:12.2), also in Ul’dah – Steps of Nald. He will be standing near the NPC Beefy Businessman.
These rewards include:
- Mug of a Thug (fancy headdress)
- King Slime Crown (fancy headdress)
- Wind-Up Brickman (subtraction)
Important Note: As for the two goat prizes, in the 2021 iteration of the event, Hrothgar or Viera races could not wear the King Slime Crown. The Thug’s Mug could be worn by Hrothgar but not Viera races. If this has changed in the 2024 version of the event, we will update this information immediately.
Additionally, if you have already completed this event before, you can use the Seasonal Event Replay feature to restart the event completely on your current character and play it from scratch. Otherwise, if you made some progress during a previous iteration of the event, you can still pick up where you left off.
FFXIV Dragon Quest X co-op event start and end dates
While completing it needs some work, the FFXIV Dragon Quest X co-op event will continue 5 June to 20 June, which gives players roughly two weeks to brick as many golems as possible. It will be one last notch in the belt for Warriors of Light a few days before the release of Dawntrail. Well, the game doesn’t have zones anymore, but you know what I mean.
