In addition to the 5 Limited Time Beast Fish in Golden Tide Pool, there is also an Event Quest as part of the update called Tides of Gold Quest. So here is a complete guide to finding and capturing the 4 Seaweeds spread across the map as part of the quest.
Complete Tides of Gold Quest Guide – Fisch
To start the Tides of Gold Quest, you need to talk to Dr. Glimmerfin, an NPC at Moosewood. If you don’t know where the NPC is, just look near the leaderboard at Moosewood or refer to the image below.
After talking with Doctor Glimmerfinhe will ask you to get 4 Algae from different islands. I mentioned all four Algae and the requirements to catch each of them.
Ancient Algae
To get the Ancient Algae, you have to fish in the Ancient Seaweed Pool area near the Ancient Island. Before the Event begins, you will receive a server-wide notification saying, “Algae Genesis near the Ancient Island.” Go outside the Ancient Island, and you will find a pool like the one in the picture above. Start fishing here in this grid-like area, and you will get the Ancient Algae. Remember, there is limited Algae in each pool. So, catch the Seaweed before anyone gets it.
Snowhead Algae
Similar to the Ancient Seaweed, the Snowhead Seaweed is also available for swimming within a small area next to Snowhead Island. Its availability is also indicated by a server-wide message saying, “Algae Genesis near Snowhead Island.” Just drive around the outer regions of Snowhead Island to find the Algae, where you can fish to get the Snowhead Algae. It also has a limited pool, so grab it before someone gets it!
Abandoned Algae
For the Abandoned Algae, wait for a common server saying, “Algae Generated near the Forsaken Shores Island.“. When you get this message, go straight to the Forsaken Shore Island and wander around its outer shores using a boat. You’ll find a pool-like area with a grate and an availability sign on top of it. Fish here using your best rod, like Rod of Depths, Heavens, to get a chance to get the Forsaken Algae.
Mushgrove Algae
Like all other Algae, the final Mushgrove Algae is also fishable in the Mushgrove Algae Pool. This pool will appear randomly with a message saying, “Algae Genesis near the Mushgrove Swamp.” After you get this message, go to the Mushgrove Algae and look for the pool off the coast. You can identify its location by the grid pattern. As usual, fish here to get the Mushgrove Algae in the game.
