GHOUL://RE is a fast-paced PvP game set in the exciting and dangerous world of Tokyo Ghoul. From the moment you launch the game, you are thrust into a high-stakes battlefield with little guidance. Whether you are assigned to fight as a ghoul or a member of the CCG, understanding the basics is crucial to survival and success. That’s why we’ve created this GHOUL://RE Starter Guide — to help you find your footing in the chaos and jump into battles with confidence.
Controls
Mastering the controls is the first step to becoming a formidable foe. To help you get started, we’ve provided a quick reference chart below:

Where to Buy Clothes
Not long after starting the game, you’ll notice that your character stops and shakes every few minutes. This severely hinders your movement and can even cost you a battle due to your inability to attack or flee.
Buying clothes not only stops this short stun period but also increases your maximum HP, giving more survivability during tight PvP battles. You can buy clothes at the A clothing store or, if you’re playing as a Human, you can save for a costume at the CCG.
How to Earn Money, EXP, Reputation and Ryo.
To buy your first weapons and clothes, you will first need to start earning money!
As a beginner, the most reliable method is to take prizes. Talk to NPCs in CCG (Human) or Helter Skelter (Ghoul) to earn enough yen to buy starter equipment. Then, to get EXP, Reputation and Ryo, visit the directions inside CCG (People) or Get ahead (Demolitions).
What are Raids?
Attacks are the key to get equipmentwhich provide additional status bonuses. These upgrades can improve attributes such as Damage, Defense, Speed, Cooldown Reduction, Maximum Hunger, Stance, and Health, giving you an advantage in PvP encounters.
Key Locations
When navigating the GHOUL://RE map, it’s important to know where you’re going. Below, we’ve put together a list of all the important places and their goals, so you’ll always know where to go—or where to avoid. To highlight these areas in your game, press p. Keep in mind that some location tags may not be visible at first glance—be sure to check the top of buildings if you’re having trouble finding them.
CCG
If you play as a Human, the CCG is your main hub. Here, you can accept quests, accept rewards, buy clothes, and purchase or craft weapons, all of which are essential to progressing and improving your character.
Helter Skelter
The Helter Skelter is the main hub for Ghouls. Here, you can check your rank, accept prizes exclusive to your faction.
Get ahead
Anteiku is where the Ghoul pinboard is, but it’s also a place where both Ghouls and Humans can buy coffee to give a temporary boost to their stats.
Park
Although mostly empty, the park has an NPC that allows you to exchange trinkets for Yen. However, if you are playing as a Human, I advise saving your materials to craft weapons instead.
A clothing store
The Clothing Store offers the best deals on clothing. Once you’ve collected at least 100 yen, be sure to stop by and buy an outfit to stop your character from shivering!
Art studio
The Art Studio is an important place exclusively for Ghouls. Here, you can buy a mask that hides your identity on the leaderboards, helping you avoid unwanted attention from People. This becomes especially valuable during the Permadeath period of the game.
