GTA 6 is Rockstarâs most complex game ever, GTA V sells 215 million copies

Following the GTA 6-delay and release of Trailer 2, Rockstar Games Take-Two Interactiveâs parent company has new financial reports to investors. During Take-Two Interactive Q4 2025 quarterly gains PresentationCEO Strauss Zelnick has also discussed the success of Rockstarâs ongoing titles over the past three months.
The delay led to Take-Twoâs share price to drop about 10% a few weeks ago. However, the second trailer and screenshots along with the actual release date brought it slightly.
Discussion of GTA 6 -Publication date
Take-Two Interactive released its release calendar with GTA VI now listed to release on May 26, 2026. Over the past year, including recently as February, the company told us that it would release in Fall 2025. Zelnick warned of a âslideâ in February, but told shareholders âWe feel really good about it (Fall 2025).â
IGN A shared Take-Two said âGrand Theft Autoâs ambition and complexity you are greater than any previous Rockstar title, and the team is ready to release another amazing recreational experience that will exceed playersâ expectations.â
Grand Theft Auto V continue to be sold as usual
Take-Two Interactive revealed that Grand Theft Auto V sold over 215 million copies. This results from beating 210m in February. Grand Theft Auto V usually sells an average of 5 million monthly. GTA V âexceeded Take-Twoâs sales expectations.
The total sales of the Grand Theft Auto series are now at nearly 450 million copies worldwide, more than 10 million in the past 3 months. This is more than usual, as it typically sells 5m per quarter.

In just last month, the game won some places in PS5âs download charts. Over the past few months and years, it has almost always been the third most played game on PlayStation. Recently it was also revealed by Twitch that the game was most watched on the platform in 2024.
Red Dead Redemption 2 succeeds 70m copies sold

Red Dead Redemption 2 has sold an additional three million copies in the last 3 months. This means that Red Dead Redemption 2 has now sold over 74 million copies worldwide, up from 70 million in February. In total, the Red Dead series has now sold over 100 million copies, up from 95 million last time. This is an improvement over the previous quarter.
The game has been the most downloaded PS4 game for the past five months in a row. The ongoing sales success does not come as much surprise, considering the PlayStation letters over the past few months.
The next thing Rockstar could release is a new port GTA 4. A respectable insidious revealed that it started production last year and with the delay of GTA VI, it could fill the gap this year. You can learn more here.
