GTA 6 Publishing Date -indic of Borderlands 4 Change Closed by Boss

One of the most asked in the world is what is the date of GTA 6 edition? Fans speculate for years, as Rockstar Games remains silent. Competitive game recently changed release dates feeding speculation about what week or day GTA 6 will finally launch.

So far, we only know that it will come out in Fall 2025 and that Rockstar’s parent company will not release its other two games this year close to it. Take-Two Interactive explained last year that they would not “stack huge releases unnecessarily” in relation to GTA VI, Borderlands 4 and Mafia: the old country.

Setting up the stage

Take-Two previously announced Mafia: the old country would release in 2025 but no date. Recently was filtered on the game’s Steam Store page to have August 8 at least at least. Meanwhile Borderlands 4 was confirmed to drop on September 23 a few months ago.

Pushing forward

This has all changed in the last few days. Gearbox And Take-Two announced the release date of Borderlands 4 moved and it wasn’t a delay. It is actually transferred until September 12th. Of course, this was taken by most people as a sign GTA you are coming out at the end of September or October with a final date locked recently. A game showcase for Mafia takes place on May 8, which is likely to give us the release date.

However, Gearbox chief Randy Pitchford took Twitter to push such claims. He said that “Borderlands 4 shipment is early 100% the result of confidence in the game and development trajectory supported by actual tasks and errors find/repair rates. Our decision is literally 0% on the actual or theoretical launch date of any other product.”

Understanding the reasons why

Given that they know when their games will be released, they can strategically put their games far enough away and give Borderlands 4 space away from GTA VI. However, this is not the whole story. Take-Two typically releases its annual Iteration from NBA 2K in the first week of September. This makes Borderlands 4 very close to it. Bungie’s marathon has since been confirmed to exit on 23 September. Some people will win, many will lose this fight in the market.

Many fans and those in the industry do not believe Pitchford. Business journalist Chris Dring said about Bluesky “If this is true, then it’s a bit strange. They went out with a date. It’s in calendars, market materials, social assets … Enter ‘Limits 4 edition’ in Google and it still says on September 23. There must be a good business reason to change date.”
