The GTA 6 edition date -frame was decreased based on the Borderlands 4th limit and comments of executives. The newest consequence in Gearbox’s popular franchise has finally received its release date last night during PlayStation’s Play state. This now gives us a much smaller window for when GTA 6 comes, at least for now.
Even recently as last week, Rockstar Take -Two Interactive Parent Company, repeated GTA you will launch in Fall 2025. As we are getting closer, fans were despairing for news and worries about delay has grown despite the duplication of A launch this year. The Borderlands 4 News gives more hope of GTA 6 actually coming out this year and that’s why.
As Borderlands 4 affects GTA 6
Gearbox has announced at the most recent PlayStation State of Play that Borderlands 4 is coming out on September 23. For some, this is a little earlier than expected. Gearbox is owned by Take-Two much like Rockstar games. Back in November, take two interactive stories to Investors Borderlands 4 continued to target a release between April 1, 2025 and March 31, 2026. This was well after a fall 2025 time period was confirmed for GTA 6.
Company Director General Strauss Zelnick said in an interview on the same day that Borderlands 4 and GTA you won’t release together: “I think it’s safe to say that we wouldn’t do, and no one will stack huge releases unnecessarily.”
This means that GTA 6 will not be released in September of this year. However, it leaves room for it to come out at the end of October (to give Borderlands a 4 breath room) or in November. If it takes an extra month in the oven, it is always December. This said, even a month is probably not enough time to have Borderlands 4 free of GTA 6. Rockstar’s next game is the most expected game of all time. It exceeds GTA V, which was already monstrous. Both game could still delay; This is just a development of video games.
Set the record straight
Some fans have taken to social media last night with the date of publication date of claims Borderlands 4 means that GTA 6 is delayed. Their reason is that they thought Take-Two previously said Borderlands 4 would release after GTA 6. This is not entirely true.
This frequent misconception is likely to come from taking-two Reports Saying this: “We also plan to release PGA Tour 2K25 and WWE 2K25 in March, Mafia: The Old Country in summer, Grand Theft Auto VI in Fall, and Borderlands 4 before year end.” Their performances also listed their slate in liberation order, since last year.
Prior to the Date of Borderlands 4 editions, many assumed that all of these games were in liberation order, as PGA, WWE and Mafia all confirmed release dates in that order. So the theory was GTA 6 later with Borderlands 4 out in December or even at the beginning of 2026. Now it seems that this was just an incorrect assumption or Borderlands 4 was moved inside to avoid GTA 6 next later in the fall.
In reality, Borderlands was listed after GTA VI, because it didn’t have a narrower time scale. Games like Judas and Project Makeup have no release date and were listed after Borderlands. Judas for example previously sought to release by March 2025 and but it is now listed as TBA.
In other GTA 6 news, the general manager of Rockstar’s parent company bothered PC at some point and he closed concerns about AI and violence. The game is still aimed at falling 2025 and that helped raise Take-Two’s share price.
