GTA 6 Targeted To Release Fall 2025, Red Dead Passes 90 Million Sales
GTA 6 is still set for release in fall 2025, say Rockstar Games’ parent company Take-Two Interactive. During Take-Two Interactive’s Q1 2025 quarterly earnings presentationCEO Strauss Zelnick discussed the success of Rockstar Games’ titles over the past three months.
In the previous quarterly report, GTA 6’s launch window was narrowed from 2025 to Fall 2025. Take-Two also said they are very confident that Rockstar Games will “deliver an unparalleled entertainment experience” in time for Fall 2025.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information is released by Take-Two Interactive.
Grand Theft Auto V continues to sell like crazy
Take-Two Interactive has revealed that Grand Theft Auto V has sold over 200 million copies, but not much more than reaching 200m in May. Grand Theft Auto V typically sells an average of 5 million each month, so this is down from most previous months over the past several years. The total sales of the Grand Theft Auto series are now more than 430 million copies worldwide, more than 5 million in the past 3 months.
Last month that GTA V was the most downloaded PS5 game of June thanks to the Bottom Dollar Bounties DLC. GTA V was also the second best selling game in all of Europe when all disc and digital sales were combined.
Red Dead Redemption 2 hits 67m copies sold
Red Dead Redemption 2 sold an extra three million copies in the last 3 months. This means that Red Dead Redemption 2 has now sold over 65 million copies worldwide, up from 64 million in May. In total, the Red Dead Series has now sold more than 91 million copies, up from 89m last time.
Again, this should come as no surprise as Red Dead Redemption 2 was the second most downloaded PS4 game in North America for 3 months in a row last quarter.
We are also now one of the re-release of Red Dead Redemption 1 on PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Rockstar Games leaked that it was coming to PC a few months ago, but they remained silent. We’ll have to see if that pans out in the next quarter. No doubt that port will sell a lot of copies and increase the series overall even more.
