GTA V and GTA Online returned to Xbox Game Pass but this time with a completely new platform and version. Xbox has announced the good news earlier this month and has now acted on it. The game was absent from the subscription service for over a year, but it has now returned from April 15.
In previous strokes, both Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and Cloud versions were played on Xbox Game Pass. What differs this time is that the PC version is now included with PC Game Pass, Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Both GTA V heritage and new GTA V enhanced versions are included in all those 3 levels of Game Pass, which is a beautiful touch.
Both versions on PC (legacy and enhanced) have separate access lists to the Xbox One and Xbox Series X | s. This means you can go and win an extra 1750 gamerscore in both computer versions separate from your Xbox savings.

Xbox finally got what they wanted
This is something that Microsoft is trying to celebrate a few years ago. In 2023, Xbox suffered a major document due to the court battle due to its acquisition of Activision Blizzard. One of the filtered documents had GTA V on PC Game Pass as a “Wild Horse” questioning whether Take-Two let them do PC in the future.
It also showed us how much it costs GTA V in Xbox Game Pass. The expected payment requested by Take-Two is $ 12-15 million a month. Given that it is usually there for half a year, GTA V in Game Pass costs around $ 72-90 million each time.
In the works for a while
Since the middle of 2024, the Rockstar Games launcher has appeared in suggesting that plans have been implemented for PC Game Pass support. Soon fans can launch GTA V on PC with the Xbox -App. This allows fans to play on the same servers as Steam, Epic Games Store and Rockstar Games Launcher players.
How will it continue in Game Pass?
There is no confirmed final date for GTA V in Game Pass as most game passes. However, GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 are usually part of Xbox Game Pass for about 6 months ago or more. Similar things can be said about the Rockstar titles on PlayStation Plus, they last 6 months. Based on that, it would be a safe bet to assume it would have 6 months on Xbox and PC Game Pass.
