Hard Mode Guide – South Park Snow Day
A true gamer never gives up before completing the game’s hardest mode, but the Hard Mode in South Park: Snow Day gave me a challenge like no other. If you want to try it yourself, check out this difficulty guide to learn what to expect from this game’s hardest difficulty.
All hard mode difficulty differences in South Park Snow Day
Below you’ll find everything you need to know about Hard difficulty in South Park: Snow Day. Since there is no checkpoint system, losing your life means you’ll have to start over from the beginning, which tends to get frustrating.
I recommend completing the game on Easy or Normal difficulty before attempting Hard mode. This will get you familiar with every weapon, power-up, and upgrade in the game, not to mention powering up your character with Dark Matter and giving you a fighting chance.

More difficult enemy types
Unlike playing on Easy or Normal, enemies scale much faster on Hard difficulty. As soon as you reach the first battle area, you will encounter Clerics, Launchersand Shield Hittersand they won’t back down until you give them a proper beating.
When you reach missions four and five, you will meet enemies possessed by Dark Matter which hit harder and faster than regular units. Variable enemies like Launchers will fire at you with pinpoint accuracy, and they should be your main targets going forward.
More damage taken
Not only do enemies scale faster, but they are also more dangerous compared to lower difficulties. Even the basic Swarmers are distant more aggressive and will not hesitate to attack you as soon as they see you. You’ll need a sharp eye and sharp reflexes to avoid attacksbecause four or five hits are usually enough to get you out.
Tougher AI allies
Fortunately, your virtual friends are just as dangerous as your enemies. They will lock on to enemy units and attack without hesitation, usually going for the weaker ones before facing stronger enemies. They are also quick to rush and revive you and your allies if you are taken out,
Few health burdens
Cheesy Poofs are much harder to find on Hard difficulty. This means that you will either need perfect dodging and blocking down to a tee or equip yourself with a Health Totem have a chance at victory. Cheesy Poofs also won’t give you as much health as in Easy and Normal mode, forcing you to strategize your battles and choose your targets more carefully.
Different areas spawn
Since South Park: Snow Day is a roguelike, you will encounter different areas and in a different order during each game. On Hard difficulty, you will get the most difficult areas containing more enemies and less valuable pickups. When the game says it’s hard, it really means it.
Fewer rewards
You heard it right. Just because you’ve increased the difficulty in a game doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll get better rewards. The Hard Mode of South Park Snow Day gives you less Toilet Paper and Dark Matter after completing Hard level. Often you will need to complete some missions on Easy or Normal to earn enough Dark Matter and upgrade your character before attempting Hard mode.
