Good news for the Helldivers 2 community: the recent 01.000.400 patch brought with it many Strategem buffs and other balance changes. The changes helped to rebalance the gameplay and, as a result, the game saw an increase in new and returning players, as well as brilliant feedback.
Patch 01.000.400, which landed on Friday, June 13, 2024, introduced some game-changing fans to many of the game’s most popular Strategies, including the likes of the Orbital Gatling, Orbital Precision Strike, Orbital Airburst Strike, Eagle 110mm Rocket Pods. , and the Eagle Sniper Run.
It also introduced some quality of life changes, such as displaying Supply Lines & Origin of Attacks on the in-game Galactic War map. With Origin of Attacks specifically, Helldivers can now see which planet an attack is coming from so you can stop the problem at the source. Pretty nice stuff!
And it looks like these changes are now paying off for developer Arrowhead Studios, with the player count soaring above 75,000 right after the patch dropped before reaching a solid 100,000 active players. These numbers should come as no real surprise given the high praise the update has received from the community.
Helldivers 2 players feel that the latest patch has restored the game’s balance and fun
Arrowhead Studios has clearly targeted the right areas for improvement in its latest patch 01.000.400 for Helldivers 2, addressing many of the community’s long-standing complaints. The player base felt that the higher difficulties of the game, which are already challenging in themselves, were too punishing and simply not fun anymore due to poorly balanced Strategies and weapons.
Now that many of these Strategies and weapons are proving viable again, Helldivers feel more equipped than ever to handle the game’s brutal higher difficulty levels. Changes to certain Terminid insect enemies were also welcomed with open arms by the community, such as the much-maligned acid effect put out by the game’s Hunters and Bug Mines.
