How do you fix “data cannot be imported” error in Madden 25?
Madden 25 offers an option to import data from College Football 25. This is great, but unfortunately it’s not perfect, as players have reported issues. This might leave you wondering how to fix the “data not importable” error in Madden 25.
How to fix the “data cannot be imported” error in Madden 25
The reason for most data import errors for draft class players is actually funny – the game’s profane filter thinks your player has a bad name. But since renaming it in-game doesn’t resolve the file name, the problem persists. Below are possible solutions to the “data cannot be imported” error in Madden 25.
- Launch College Football 25, rename the player and wait at least 3 minutes for servers to catch up and export it. Import the “decent” version into Madden 25. Remember, this doesn’t mean your player’s name is inappropriate, as the game has trouble differentiating “unusual” names from “usual” names.
- If you have a problem on PC, rename the player in Madden 25 and update the exported file. If renaming the file doesn’t help, open it, look for the name in the code and rename it.
According to EA’s community manager, EA_Blueberrythe problem is fixed: “There was an issue earlier with importing characters, but it should now be fixed. It is possible that you may not be able to import your College Football Superstar into Madden due to a name being flagged as inappropriate. Some names may, unfortunately, be inappropriate for the context in which they are used.”
The latest information from EA, via community manager EA_Kent, is that “after today’s maintenance, this should be better.” Unfortunately, some players continue to report problems with their chosen names.
