How to beat Slogra and Gaibo in Vampire Survivors Ode to Castlevania
Slogra and Gaibon are two bosses you’ll encounter early on in Vampire Survivors: Ode to Castlevania. Finding and beating these monsters inside Dracula’s castle isn’t that difficult, and doing so with Grant Danasty unlocks the Sypha Belnades character for you.
Where to find and defeat Slogra and Gaibo in Vampire Survivors Ode to Castlevania
If you are just starting out with Ode to Castlevania, I will recommend you get the map from the eastern section of the map. It can be found inside the forest marked by the green arrow on your screen. This will allow you to get an overview of the stages, and more importantly, the location of the bosses. I have marked the location of Slogra and Gaibon on the map above along with the route to reach them (see yellow lines).
Once you cross the bridge and enter Castlevania, keep walking west until you reach the first boss: Giant Bat. Bosses are marked with the skull icon on the map and you must stand on the red seal to summon them. Defeat Giant Bat to get the Stallion Gate relic and access to the next area. Follow the indicated route and you will then reach Giant Medusa Head boss sigil You can skip this boss fight if you want. Move further east and you will find the seal that summons Sluggish and Gable.
Go over it once to summon Gaibo and again to summon Slogra. To make the fight easier, I recommend you fight and defeat one boss and only then summon the next enemy instead of facing both at once. You can collect power-ups and your preferred weapons before starting the battle. Also, make sure to level up your arsenal to defeat Slogra, Gaibo, and the other enemies effortlessly. Pay attention to the light sources (chandeliers), as these drop useful upgrades. For example, I managed to extract Slogra in a few seconds with the Nduja Fritta pickup truckbut you have to be very lucky to get one.
How to unlock Sypha Belnades in Vampire Survivors Ode to Castlevania
- Unlock Leon Belmont
- Unlock Trevor Belmont (by defeating Giant Medusa Head using Leo)
- Unlock Grant Danasty (by evolving Dragon Water Whip, Trevor’s basic weapon)
- Unlock Sypha (by defeating Slogra and Gaibo using Grant Danasty)
You can skip the first two steps and simply evolve the Dragon Water Whip if you find this weapon while playing Ode to Castlevania. However, I noticed that this weapon is a rare find. Therefore, it is ideal to unlock Trevor first as you get the Dragon Water Whip by default while using that character.
How to unlock Leon Belmont in Vampire Survivors
First, head west to the entrance of Dracula’s Castle at the location marked on the map above (you can use any character here). There you’ll find a coffin surrounded by bats, which you can’t easily reach (second image above), but your whip can. Take out all the guard bats and approach the coffin to free Leon Belmont and add him to your character list.
How to unlock Trevor Belmont in Vampire Survivors
Choose Leon Belmont as your character for the next round in the Ode to Castlevania DLC. Level up to get some good weapons and upgrades and go to the boss of the Giant Medusa Head (see the map above for location). Stand on the red seal to summon the monster after which you can take it out. Since you have Leo equipped, defeating a Giant Medusa Head will unlock Trevor Belmont for you.
How to unlock Grant Danasty in Vampire Survivors
In the next match, pick Trevor Belmont as he comes equipped with the Dragon Water Whip as his basic weapon. Now you don’t have to rely on your luck trying to find this as a drop. The next step is to evolve the Dragon Water Whip. For this, you must maximum level up the weapon and get the Attractor a magnet
- Upgrade the Dragon Water Whip to level 8 by collecting Gems dropped by enemies and Treasure Chests left by bosses. This will take some time, so keep playing. Try not to spend your level to upgrade other items and prioritize upgrading Dragon Water Whip first.
- However, you must take an Attractor when it appears (second image above). You don’t need to level up this skill, so once acquired, forget it.
Once these two tasks of maxing out the Dragon Water Whip and getting Attractorb are done, you have to beat any boss to get. Treasure chest. Opening the chest after fulfilling this requirement automatically generates the Hydrostormer Advice. Once you get this item, you will be evolved the Dragon Water Whip giving you the character Grant Danasty.
In the next round, unlock Grant Danasty for 241 coins and choose it as your character for Ode to Castlevania. His main weapon is the Curved Knife, which I don’t like much, so I level the character and get some other good weapons and upgrades before entering Dracula’s Castle. As mentioned before, all you have to do now is defeat Slogra and Gaibon to gain access to Sypha Belnades. You can then unlock this character permanently for 2,165 coins.
