Soul Reaper Progression Guide – Type Soul
The first step to becoming a Soul Reaper in Type Soul is to die. After spawning into the game as a human, be killed by any NPC character or player on the server. Doing so allows you to change your avatar into a lost soul. Now, talk to the Kisuke NPC in City of Katakura to gain membership in the Soul Society. He should be standing near the edge of the city of a small plateau-like terrain. Use the image below for a pictorial reference of the area. That's it! You became a Soul Reaper in Type Soul.
Gaining Experience Points and improving your rank in Type Soul
After becoming a Soul Reaper, you will immediately return to Rukongai as a trainee. The remaining task is to earn experience points by completing missions and leveling up your grade. First, before doing anything, I suggest you learn the Lightning Step, which does not require any skill points and will help you tremendously in the initial stage.
Now create a party and participate in missions from the mission boards. You can find them through the map and use the image above as a reference. Soon, you'll earn XP points as you complete missions and switch from a Trainee to a Grade 5.
Becoming a Grade 5 is pivotal because you will gain access to the Senkaimon toolwhich allows you to travel to the Soul Society. You can access Division Duty missions there, providing even more experience points. Join Division Duties and complete missions associated with each division.

Getting Shikai in Type Soul
You are allowed to get Shikai in Type Soul before you reach Grade 2. Meditate three times, with each session continuing around. 20 minutes. So, in total, you have to almost meditate for almost an hour. When you sit to meditate for the fourth time, you will immediately receive the Shikai mission.
The mission revolves around winning your re-election. Basically, you have to defeat an NPC character with the same abilities as your current build. Since it is a copy of your build, you should understand its weakness. For example, if your build has a lot of Kendo Skill points, all attacks would do a lot of damage up close but not have long range. So, staying away and attacking will be helpful. Determine what works for your build and use it to your advantage in battle. Once you do that, you'll get a Shikai in Type Soul.
How to get Bankai in Type Soul
Soul Reaper's ultimate goal is to obtain the Bankai. To do this, you must complete three sets of objectives.
Objective 1: You can complete any of the following tasks to complete the first objective.
- Win 13 Factions
- Win 7 Clan Wars
- Win 25 Ranked 1v1 Matches
After you have completed the above tasks, visit Katakura Town and talk to the V-Unequal NPC near the two large warehouses. He will give three more objectives to complete.
Objective 2: You must complete all of the following objectives to proceed to obtain Bankai.
- Get 15 Elite Grips
- Kill Bawabawa or Jindabo Bosses
- Kill 80 Hollows
After completing all the quests, talk to the Urahara NPC in Katakura Town.
Goal 3: Urahara will ask you to complete a small minigame involving collecting swords within a set time. Use your skills to collect everything and finish the challenge.
Once you do that, mediate to get the quest to get Bankai. Defeat the Bankai boss to get the Bankai in Type Soul.
