In Black Myth Wukong, you can customize your character by discovering and equipping new equipment such as masks, clothing, wristbands and staff. If you bought the deluxe edition of the game, the monkey will come equipped with the Folk Opera Mask headgear, and here’s how to unequip it.
To equip and unequip a mask and headgear in Black Myth Wukong, you must visit the Settings menu Go to the Playing tab by clicking on the gear icon (the third option on the left column). Set the Show Headgear fixing to Off (see image above) to hide the headgear your character wears during gameplay.
In the Equipment menu, where all your customizable clothing and items are displayed, you’ll also find the headgear section. This section will show you any mask you currently have equipped on your character and allow you to change it. If you only have one headgear in your inventory, it will be automatically equipped and you will not be able to unequip it from here.
All you can do in the Equipment menu is swap between different available masks if you have several. Therefore, the only way to unequip the mask in Black Myth Wukong (currently) is to turn off the visibility of headgear in the settings as I explained before.
Disabling the Show Caps Gameplay setting simply prevents the game from showing any mask you’ve put on, not removing it entirely. This means that the stats of the mask you currently equip as your equipment (for example, defense and other abilities) will still apply to your character; you just won’t be able to see the mask during gameplay.
