The 2024 Fortnite x Star Wars crossover event has arrived, bringing with it a variety of weapons and items from the Star Wars universe such as lightsabers, E-11 Blasters and more. Chapter 5 Season 2 also sees the return of the familiar Darth Vader to the map, but this time his location is different, and the same every match you play.
Out of all these iconic in-game drops, Darth Vader's lightsaber is one of the most powerful weapons players can wield. However, this is not so easy and may require you to go up against a small army of stormtroopers and Darth Vader himself.
Darth Vader's Location in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2
Darth Vader can be found on the small island north of Lavish Lair, specifically on its southwest corner. We have marked the island you will need to visit on the map screenshot below.
You don't want to go straight there though. This is a surefire way to get killed instantly. Vader is incredibly strong with a strong health bar and a good amount of shield. Fortunately, the island he landed on has three chests on the beach on its northern shore, as well as one stacked on top of a pile of wooden furniture in the center. Visit these to stock up on some weapons and — hopefully — some healing items and shields as well.
Once you're ready, head to the southwest coast and go into the nearby Imperial Roadblock building. You can loot the E11 Blaster here and maybe the Wookie Bowcaster from the Imperial Chest.
Now it's time to start unleashing hell on Vader. As soon as you damage him, he will use a force jump to immediately close the distance and try to use a lightsaber. You'll want to try using explosives or a shotgun if you're feeling really lucky to quickly chip away at his health before he can start any more swings of his lightsaber.
Trying to take him out solo is hard, so I'd recommend playing with friends or letting other players do the job (if you're playing in solos) and then going in to finish the job. Remember that the Stormtroopers with Darth Vader will also be shooting at you, so you want to try to take them out first, so that's one less thing you have to worry about.
How to use a lightsaber in Fortnite
If you managed to defeat Darth Vader yourself, congratulations! You now have access to his shiny (and deadly) lightsaber. The hard part is understanding how best to use it. If you spam the attack button, there's a chance you'll run out of moves you need for a fair 1v1 situation. So, time them right with pauses between each swing.
Another thing to remember is that the ability deflect bullets is limited, in a sense. If you're holding down your block button hoping to deflect every bullet your enemy fires your way, you're out of luck! Just like your attacks, time this one well to never run out of stamina.
Finally, make sure you use the Force throw his lightsaber like a boomerang. This is a great trick to use when attacking enemies at a distance. Combining all these skills makes a powerful combo that can win you almost any battle against real opponents in the game.
Fortnite x Star Wars has a lot to offer this season, including some of the rarest cosmetics available in the game. It also has a new LEGO Fortnite Star Wars pass, and has seen the vaulting of some unpopular weapons.
