How to fix voice chat not working in Content Warning

Content Warning is a game you'd mostly play with friends, and if you have issues with your microphone, it can be game-breaking. If you're in this situation, this Content Warning guide will help you fix voice chat if it's not working.

There are many possible reasons why you are having problems with voice chat, but you can easily overcome them by doing three things:

  • Select the right Microphone and Push to Talk option of the settings.
  • By pressing the Push to Talk button.
  • Check yours microphone from the Windows Settings.

When you first play Content Warning, it will ask which Microphone and Voice Chat Mode you'll be using, and if you mess those up, your voice chat probably won't work. To fix this, go to Options from the game's main menu and select the Audio tab from the top. Here, you'll see two settings, and you'll want to set them as:

  • Microphone: Set the microphone you want to use in your game.
  • Voice Chat Mode: Press to talk

Unless you might have accidentally changed it, the The Push to Talk button in Content Warning is V. If you want to check your current button mapping, go to Options from the main menu and select the Controls tab, where you'll see the Push to Talk button at the top.

How to control Microphone from Windows Settings

If the above two don't work, you need to check if your microphone is working. You can do this by right-clicking the Sound icon in the lower right corner and selecting Open Sound Settings.

Scroll down to the microphone section, select your primary microphone and speak into it. If you see spikes in the slider, it means your microphone is working. If not, try unplugging and plugging the microphone or trying a different microphone, that should solve your problem.
