What are breach grenades in Destiny 2?

If you don't know what a loaded grenade is, you're not alone. In Destiny 2, there are two types of grenade launchers. The power throw grenade is equipped in the heavy weapon slot and consumes heavy ammunition. On the other hand, the a back-loaded grenade launcher is placed in the energy or first two weapon slots and uses special ammunition instead of heavy.

Back-loaded grenade launchers are very powerful and especially effective at clearing out groups of enemies in PvE or throwing opponents away in PvP. They have higher stats than regular grenades, with the only downside being that the special ammo is harder to get in the field compared to the heavy variant.
