There are now over 100 pets available to us in Old School RuneScape, from boss pets to skill and disposable pets. Read on to find out how to get your own pet quetzal bird, called a Quetzin.
OSRS – How to get the quetzal bird pet Quetzin
The biggest barrier to getting the quetzal pet, Quetzin, in OSRS is becoming a member of the Hunter’s Guild. You must become a member of the guild to be able to complete the Rumors of Hunters whose rewards are Hunters’ Loot Bags. These come in various levels, depending on your level, with Quetzin being a potential random unique drop of Tier 2 and 3 bags.

To join the Hunter’s Guild, you will need to have completed the quest Eagles Peak (this is available from Aedougne Zoo) and has the following skill levels:
- Hunter 46
- Herb 30
- Construction 27
You will then have to go to Varlamore. For a complete walkthrough of the process, you can read my guide on how to join the Hunter Guild. Once you can do Hunters’ Rumors quests but you will have to be at least Hunter 72 do searches with Tier 2 bag rewardsand Hunter 91 to get Tier 3 bags.
If you don’t currently have a pet following you, you’ll know you have Quetzin as a reward if you get the message, You feel like you are being followed. Otherwise (as long as you have backpack space) you will get the message, You feel something strange creep into your backpack. Good hunting!
