How to get Dragon Hunter’s Great Katana in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree- Early Great Katana Map Location
The Great Katana of the Dragon-Hunter can be obtained by defeating the Ancient-Dragon Man boss in the Dragon’s Pit dungeon, which is east of the Gravesite Plain Site of Grace (the first Grace you find in the DLC). This boss is located at the end of the dungeon and defeating them will give you this cool Katana as a reward.
The Ancient Dragon Man is a powerful boss who can finish you off in a few hits with his katana. His attacks consist of a slash attack by jumping and a regular slash attack by charging forward. Your best bet is to corner him and damage him with some heavy melee combos. He also does Dragon Bite and Magma Breath attacks so the best option here is to dodge far away from those.
You can also use magic spells against him from a further distance, but he closes in on you very quickly, so you’ll need to quickly avoid rolling. He’s easily staggered by some powerful hits, so it can give you an opening to land some heavy attacks.

The Dragon Hunter’s Great Katana has a base damage of 152 and reaches 387 when fully upgraded with Somber Smithing Stones. It’s a great weapon for a melee build while climbing strength and skill. Doing enough damage to enemies will cause blood loss. As the name implies, it is absolutely deadly against Dragons, especially when using the Dragon Wound Trango skill Here, you jump in the air and perform a powerful slash that takes a large portion of your enemy’s health. To boost the damage of this Great Katana consider using the Fragment of Alexander because it can boost the power of the ability by 15%.
