The best way to get Star Rifts in Anime Defenders is by playing the challenges. Indicative of its name, challenges are a unique section in Anime Defenders where players must complete maps with a bit of a twist to earn rewards like Star Rifts. These twists/precepts range from enemies having double their normal HP to having the ability to regenerate Health. It is random and varies from time to time.
For example, if you look at the image above, you will find that all enemies on this map will have the ability to regenerate HP. So, instead of your usual loadout, try using units with very low cooldowns and high damage numbers to quickly take out the enemies and get various rewards from Star Rift.
Also, instead of jumping into any random challenge room, try to only play on maps where you will get your desired materials with a high drop rarity. For example, if you want to get Star Rift Yellow, There is no point in grinding the above challenges map as there are no drop rewards related to Star Rift Yellow or Star Rift in general. You can either jump to a different map or try to wait an hour where the maps will be swapped out with a new set of challenges and rewards.
