How to get Super Samples in Helldivers 2
If you’re looking for samples in Helldivers 2, then you’re clearly in the market to upgrade your ship modules and improve the many different tricks you can pull off on the battlefield. This guide will show you how to collect the rarest samples in the game: Super Samples.
Where to find Super Samples in Helldivers 2
First things first: dinner samples are just showing up difficulties seven to nine, so make sure you’re playing Suicide Mission or above to find them. And be warned – super samples (or super uranium, as the game also calls them) are hard to come by. You can discover them only at specific places on each map.
This does not include maps from the Eradicate Terminid Swarm, Eradicate Automaton Forces and Retrieve Essential Personnel missions.
To actually find supersamples, you need to locate a a fist-shaped standing rock covered with silver details. Super samples tend to generate around its base and come in the form of floating silver balls decorated with a four square symbolmaking them fairly simple to spot.
I find the easiest way to find this 1st form great specimen rock is to open your map and look for a small gray ball surrounded by a silver outline, as seen above. Also worth noting is that the superspecimen rock is a point of interest in Helldivers 2, which means you can hover your cursor over it on the map, and it will tell you if a specific rock is a point of interest or not. You can also activate a radar station in your game to reveal all points of interest on the map.
I would recommend choosing a world with clear visibility so you can spot the rock more easily. This means avoiding sand planets and jungles, as well as any mods that affect visibility. Also, accept your mission during the daytime rolling to the light side of the planet on the Galactic War map. If you want to maximize the number of super samples, you can collect them in the shortest time.
Then, I found that blitz missions are the best for farming these samples thanks to their short length, tighter map size, and straight targets.
What are Super Samples in Helldivers 2?
Specimens are one of the several forms of currency you encounter while exploring planets at different difficulty levels in Helldivers 2. Each of the three specimen types – common, rare and super – can be used to unlock crucial upgrades for your Ship Modules, which can be done through the Ship Management Station.
As I just mentioned, Helldivers 2 boasts three different types of specimens that you can collect, although they only appear in some. difficulties. Here’s a quick summary of the different sample types and at what difficulties they appear:
- Common samples: These are spread across all nine difficulties in the game.
- Rare samples: These can only be found in difficulties ranging from four to nine. In the game these are referred to as Challenging, Hard, Extreme, Suicide Mission, Impossible, and Helldive.
- Super samples: These are the hardest samples to find in the game, as they are only available in difficulties seven through nine: Suicide Mission, Impossible and Helldive.
To unlock higher difficulties, you must first complete a full operation on the previous difficulty of the level you are trying to unlock. For example, to be able to find super samples on the Suicide Mission difficulty, you have to finish an operation mission on Extreme first.
Common and rare types of samples will let you upgrade the first two ship modules in each section. But to unlock the last ship moduleyou will need everything three sample types – yes, that includes super samples. A crucial note: when you die (and trust me, you will), don’t forget to collect the samples you dropped from your corpse.
