How to Handle the New Prism Enemy Type in Destiny 2: The Final Form
Introduced in the first mission of the new expansion, these nasty creatures are completely immune to your attacks until you do one very important thing. If you happened to miss the tutorial on it, or you’re a new player who didn’t quite understand what was being said, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
How to Defeat the New Enemy Type in The Final Form
First it’s important to know how to differentiate these guys, and your usual ordinary subs. Destiny 2 tends to use colored health bars to discern an enemy’s strength, with red being your standard highly-smackable grunt, orange being an “Elite” enemy, and yellow being a Boss; either mini or fit. The Final Form introduces the first new type of bar in Destiny history, with the pink “Prisma” enemy.
These guys are shielded by some Darkness mumbo-jumbo, and they’re a right pain when you’re trying to focus on large amounts of smaller enemy types. In the introductory mission, you will have the opportunity to test the new Prismatic subclass before officially unlocking it at the end of the mission, and this is your key to beating them early. You’ll know where you can get it based on these big old blobs of pink paracausal space whatever, dotted all over wherever these encounters are in the mission.
Entering the source, you will notice a change to your UI at the bottom left, and how you will get a new bar that is divided into two sections. To deal with these new enemies, you’ll need to fill up that new bar on both sides (which can be done with a mix of light. and dark abilities) and activate ‘Transcendence‘(B on M+K – R3+L3 on a Controller). This will give you some very nice new space magic toys to play with, and better yet, will allow you to break the cover of these new enemy types. Although temporary at first, fear not as you will be rewarded with the full gear and caboodle soon enough.
