When we talk about the best Call of Duty games, the original Modern Warfare 2 tops the list along with some other older titles. If you remember, Modern Warfare 2 Remastered was released not long ago, but the game only had the Campaign and no Multiplayer, until the H2M mod. Here’s how to install it.
The mod itself is free, but you’ll need to own Modern Warfare Remastered for it to work. Follow the steps below on how to play MW2 Remastered Multiplayer with H2M Mod:
- Purchase Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered (2017) on steam if you don’t already own the game. It often goes on sale, so keep an eye out for those deals.
- Once you own the game, install Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered – Multiplayer from your Steam Library.
- Launch the game and turn off the Cache Shaders option in the graphics settings. If you receive this prompt during game launch, dismiss it. Doing this is important because MW Remastered faces some issues when the shadow cache is enabled, so it’s better to be safe than sorry.
- Finally, install the H2M Mod Launcher apply the MW2 Multiplayer Remastered mod and play the game.

What is the H2M Mod? Trailer, release date and platforms
H2M-Mod (H2 Multiplayer Mod) is a client developed for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered that will allow players to enjoy the original Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer experience today when it launches on August 16, 2024. The creators of this mod managed to carry over the weapon models and maps from Modern Warfare 2 Remastered to Modern Warfare Remastered, which works perfectly, and the similarity to the original games is strikingly good.
When the H2M Mod launches, there will be over 50 playable maps including the original ones from MW Remastered and MW2 Remastered, as well as some custom maps selected from the MW2 Remastered Campaign. Creating a class with guns from both games will be present alongside the classic MW2 killstreak rewards. And don’t forget about the classic progression system with ranks, cams, business cards and logos.
Unfortunately for console gamers, this mod is only available on PC and will not be available for Xbox or PlayStation devices. Mods work optimally only on the Windows platform because there are more freedoms and customization options. Check out the H2M Mod MW2 Multiplayer Remastered trailer below.
