How to manage and reduce Misery in V Rising

Misery is a mechanic in V Rising that gives you information about a prisoner’s happiness levels. If imprisoned and not fed properly, a slave’s Misery can begin to increase, leading to death and discontent. There are a few ways to prevent this from happening, so here’s how you keep your prisoners happy.

Unhappy prisoners are rarely productive, and vampires know this best. In V Rise, the higher the Misery, the less likely you are to draw blood that doesn’t hurt you. In the worst cases, high Misery can even lead to death of the prisoner.

To reduce these statistics, approach the Prison Cell and simply feed the captive consumable. The best option is to feed them different types of fish, because these consumables are easily accessible. Remember that even though Rats are easier to find, they may not necessarily drop the prisoner’s Misery.

Best items to feed prisoners in V Rising

Of all the consumables you can feed captives, these are the best you should consider:

  • Wise Fish: 10-20% Misery reduction.
  • Swamp Dweller: 20-40% Misery reduction.
  • Golden River Bass: 15-25% Misery reduction.

One of the best places to fish for Sage Fish, Swamp Dwellers and Golden River Bass is to go to Silverlight Hills. The drop rate for each of these items is 10% (or more), which makes farming for them much easier. However, remember that you need a fishing fish in V Rise.

How to craft a Fishing Rod in V Rising

The craft recipe for a fishing is unlocked after your vampire drinks the blood of Finn the Fisherman. Since he is a level 32 NPC, you will need to be around that level to make the process simpler for yourself. We recommend building a castle somewhere around Silverlight Hills to make the farming process much more accessible. Once you unlock this process, supporting the Misery of your prisoners won’t be too much of a problem.
