How to unlock The Knave Weekly Boss in Genshin Impact

To unlock The Knave Weekly Boss, you must first complete Arlecchino's Story Quest, the Ignis Purgatorius Chapter Act I – When the Hearth Flame Goes Out. It requires you to meet the following prerequisites:

Unlike events, it is not possible to skip the prerequisites to unlock Story Quests, so you will have to go through all the Archon Quests until Fontaine. Additionally, it costs one Story Key to unlock Arlecchino's Story Quest. At the beginning, you can start a focus mode to prevent overlaps with other searches.

After completing Arlecchino's Story Quest, Domain called the Scattered Ruins will appear in Mont Esus East, located north of Fontaine's Court. You can teleport directly to the area and interact with the entrance to the ruin to start the battle.

You can fight The Knave all you want, but you can only claim rewards once a week. Spend 30 to 60 Resin after the battle (discounted rate applies to your first three Weekly Boss collections for the week) to randomly obtain the Fading Candle, Silk Feather, or Denial and Judgment.

How to beat The Knave in Genshin Impact

The fight against The Knave is difficult because she blocks you with many attacks, moves around the map quickly and applies the Bond of Life to party members. These should be considered when building a team against her:

  • Bring a trusted healer to eradicate the Link of Life. It is impossible to stay alive in this battle without a healer.
  • If you can't dodge quick attacks, bring a shield with a very strong shield—this was the first boss where my Zhongli's shield would often be destroyed before the cooldown reset.
  • Don't use characters with static abilities, like Yae Miko's totems or Kokomi's jellyfish. The Knave flies across the map very quickly, so skills that force you to stay still will hold you back.
  • Consider bringing a DPS with decent range/hit, as La Knave sometimes flies around and is small compared to other bosses, so she can be hard to get to. However, a bow user is not required.
  • Being a Pyro boss, The Knave is best defeated using Elements that React with Pyro, including Dendro, Hydro, Cryo, and Electro.

The Knave has a lot of abilities with dodgeable hitboxes, but they tend to cover a large area on the map and only give you a second to dodge. Be careful and try to avoid them as much as possible. Other attacks can be avoided with practice or cheesed off with a shield, but remember that The Knave's damage is generally very high, so take care of your shield health and cooldown.

If you're experiencing general loading issues with Genshin Impact, pay attention to the moment The Knave transforms into Peruere. me it is strongly recommended to skip the animation cutscene because doing so will give you full visibility of the next attack's hitbox, buying you a few seconds to dodge it. The attack is especially hard hitting and can easily OHKO squishy units. If your device is slow or laggy, you will miss the narrow window to avoid.

How Bond of Life works in Genshin Impact

A key mechanic in The Knave's combat is her ability to apply the Bond of Life to any party member. It's a debuff that holds part of your HP hostage and prevents healing until it's removed. To clear the Bond of Life, the character inflicted with it must receive healing equal to the amount of HP kidnapped.

The Bond of Life can be identified by a red cross symbol and the part of the HP bar in red means the amount of healing needed to remove the debuff. While the Link of Life is active, characters can continue to take damage, so it is pertinent to remove it as soon as possible.

A large portion of a character's HP can be held by a Bond of Life, making them susceptible to death. As a result, you need a reliable healer to manage the team's HP.
