King Arthur Legion IX Morale Guide – Should you choose Demon or Human?

While much of the gameplay focuses on combat in the turn-based strategy RPG King Arthur: Legion IX, there is more to think about. After each mission, you will have to make moral decisions that will affect more than just the moment. So should you take the Demonic or Human path in King Arthur: Legion IX?

The most important thing to note is that there is no right or wrong answer when it comes to making moral decisions in King Arthur: Legion IX. This is a fantasy game that uses several genres to create a unique mix, so if you just want a roleplay things as you see them, exist no harm in that.

However, if you want to make decisions based on how they affect your characters and the battles ahead, you should consider that your morality choices will affect how other heroes think of you (individual loyalty bonuses) and also the Morality Chart (squad bonuses) that can become available to you as you concentrate along one of the paths.

Different heroes automatically side with either the Demon or Human and how you (playing as Gaius) make your decisions can affect their loyalty.

  • Plutonius (Demonic): Every time you go for a Demonic moral choice, he will gain +1 Loyalty.
  • Albino (Humanity): When you make a Humanity moral choice, she gets +1 Loyalty.

Increased Loyalty will add weapon damage and, if it reaches 15, additional AP. This can make a huge difference, so if you favor one of these heroes, it can help your decision.

Every time you are in Nova Roma, you will have to make a decision related to the functioning of the city. These decisions will have two to three choices, often allowing you to take a Demonic or Human bowed answer. Each time you choose, it will move the morale Table one space, and for every two spaces you move in one direction you will open a new bonus.

Demonic

  • 2 points: Plunder Decree (doubles the Gold found in your next mission)
  • 4 points: A promise to Orcus (heroes gain 5 percent Vitality each time a unit is killed)
  • 6 points: Tax collection (unlocks War Council upgrade which adds 25 percent to Gold gained in missions)
  • 8 points: Concession Decree (traders give a 20 percent discount but the arrival of new stock is delayed 2 turns)
  • 10 points: Immortal Legion (heroes stay alive on 1 Vitality the first time they should die. Any additional damage is delayed until the next turn)

Mankind

  • 2 points: Take Back Decree (doubles the Resources found in your next mission)
  • 4 points: Promise to Vista (all heroes gain 10 percent Vitality after each battle)
  • 6 points: Fidelity (unlocks War Council upgrade which adds +1 Loyalty to all heroes)
  • 8 points: Decree on Restocking of Goods (dealer's stock restocks immediately)
  • 10 points: The Touch of Vesta (you can now over heal, with 50 percent of excess healing turning into temporary Vitality)

Other Moral options

If you don't care about roleplaying and aren't convinced by the bonuses offered by the gods, there's often a third choice. This usually allows you to give a specific bonus to one of your heroes (except loyaltyor even a skill point). These can be great options, especially if you aren't won over by the 10 point morale Bonuses.

In the end, there is little to choose between the two paths in terms of the quality of bonuses. However, I like the Promise to Vista bonus and also prefers Albina over Plutonius, so I almost always will Mankind options to strengthen her Loyalty.
