Latest Warzone patch nerfs the last good long range full auto gun

Call of Duty: Warzone and MW3 received a minor update today that fixed some bugs and made other small improvements. In addition to these minor changes, the developers tweaked a popular weapon.

Players have been enjoying the DG-58 LSW LMG as their go-to long-range weapon for quite some time now. Coupled with a fast TTK (time-to-kill) SMG, this gun is made for the ultimate meta-load in Warzone, but I’m afraid that won’t happen after today’s weapon adjustments.

Raven Software addressed in the patch notes that they made significant reductions to the damage ranges. After testing the weapon in-game, I can assure you that the DG-58 LSW is no longer the meta-weapon option for long-range combat in Warzone.

The LMG does not feel as powerful due to the reduced range effectiveness and is overshadowed by its competitors (for example, the Holger 26 LMG, the SVA 545 AR, and the Pulemyot 762 LMG). These guns, while not as accurate as the DG-58 LSW, take out your opponents faster due to better TTK stats.

This change was not necessary. There are very few full-auto long-range guns that are competitive enough to be used in the current state of Warzone, where snipers like the recently introduced Kar98k wreak havoc. Instead, other Assault Rifles and Light Machine Guns should be improved to meet the standards of the DG-58, giving players more fully automatic weapons to play with.
