We recently understood how it will be the marketing for the next remake of Max Payne 1 & 2. Rockstar games will be much more public about their involvement in the coming months based on what was said.
This new information comes after we reported on Remedy’s development update for January until March 2025 on Wednesday. The company confirmed that the project has made “big advances” altogether during the full production stage recently. The general manager of the Finnish game developer Virtala explained that critical milestones are coming and work continues with Rockstar.
Following the publication of these documents, CEO Virtala took questions from investors yesterday including one about the remake of Max Payne 1 & 2. Spotted by A Reddit userVirtal was asked “Will we have a first trailer or teaser for Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake this year?”. To whom the Director General said this:
Max Payne Remake will be issued by Rockstar Games and all communications, marketing, are in their hands and we don’t comment on anything about it. ” – Earth Virtala, CEO of Remedy Entertainment
What does that mean
While we knew Rockstar is fully funding and publishing the game of years now, this is the first time we have heard that Rockstar would trade it by means. What and when we will receive this remake project will remain to Rockstar. As we know, they tend to say very little.
Considering that GTA 6 is released this year and the Max Payne -remakes must come in 2026, a trailer might seem questionable until GTA 6 will reject. However, this is just a guess. Rockstar is difficult to predict.
It is senseless to think within a 12 -month period, Rockstar will release and GTA VI and the remake of Max Payne 1 & 2.. This is pretty good time frame for two game editions after almost a decade drought.
