Mechabellum Tips Guide – Reinforcements, Research Points, Specialists

Mechabellum is one of the most popular auto fighters but it comes with a steep learning curve. If you want to boost your MMR and get better, you’ll need more than just the basics covered in the tutorial. So, if you’re a beginner, here are the best tips and tricks to help you get better at Mechabellum.
8 Tips And Tricks For Mechabellum
Below you will find the best tips and tricks for Mechabellum that will help you improve your tactics as well as your MMR.
Adapt Your Strategy on the Fly
In Mechabellum, sticking to one strategy is a recipe for disaster. I’ve seen many players make this mistake, and it usually ends in a frustrating loss. Instead, you should look at your opponent’s units and adapt your tactics accordingly.
For example, if your opponent is building an army of Mustangs, you should shift your focus to getting armored troops like Arclights or Vulcans. Doing this will allow you to counter your opponent without losing multiple rounds. Don’t hesitate to sell units that will not be useful; keeping unnecessary units is a burden that will limit your supplies, so be prepared to change your composition whenever necessary.
Don’t Spam Troops

While you might think it’s common sense to spam a powerful unit, doing so hurts you against counters, and reduces your unit’s XP gain as well as your army’s balance. I suggest using two or maximum three units of your best units. Try to prioritize high value units that can give you value even in later rounds.
I generally prefer units like Scorpions or fangs because they are great by themselves in the early game, and become even better with upgrades in later rounds.
Choose Reinforcements Carefully

Reinforcements there are optional perks and units you can buy at the end of each round. Although you might be tempted to spend leftovers on power-ups, it’s not worth doing every time. Only invest in perks if their rarity is yellow or higher.
Choosing a reinforcement can be quite situational, especially in later rounds of a match. For example, choosing the Super Supply Enhancement is a no-brainer in most cases, but if you’re running an aggressive build around Crawlers and Archlightsthen selecting Efficient Lighting Manufacturing will give you much more value. Generally, if your reinforcements don’t improve your strategy, then you’re just wasting supplies.
Use Your Research Points

One of the most common mistakes I’ve seen beginners make is not using theirs research points. While you might think that each unit has a fixed set of upgrades, instead you can unlock additional upgrades and build them differently. This not only gives you an edge in matches, but allows you to create new and unique strategies.
For example, when you use Crawlers, having the Effective Drill updating is a must to make them actually useful. This upgrade increases each Crawler’s attack stats by 125%making them viable in battle; without it, other updates like Replicate and Underground Blitzkrieg doesn’t work well.
Best Research Point Investments

Sledgehammer | Armor Enhancement | Provides damage reduction and HP increase, making them more sustainable and viable in later rounds. |
Storm caller | Electromagnetic Explosion | Unlocks a long-range AoE attack, great for countering a lot of swarming units. |
Steel Balls | Armor Enhancement | Provides damage reduction and HP increase, making them more sustainable and viable in later rounds. |
Scorpio | Field Maintenance | Provides a permanent recovery of 4.5% of maximum HP after taking damage, greatly improving the survivability and overall value of the unit. |
Phoenix | Charged Shot | Increases the unit’s damage by 175%, making them extremely powerful in early as well as late game. |
Arclight | Anti-aircraft ammunition | Arclights can now target both ground and air units, increasing their viability significantly. |
Fang | Armor-Piercing Bullets | Increases the Fang’s attack by 50%, making them viable as a late game carry. |
wasp | Air Specialization | Significantly increases damage and range against other air units, making them the best counter for almost every air unit. |
Upgrade Your Control Towers

As a beginner, more often than not, players completely overlook the Control Towers. Rather, upgrading them provides you with game-changing benefits, such as letting you sell your units. To gain an early game advantage, try to unlock the first few perks for both towers quickly.
The tower on the right called the Command center has the decisive Mass Recruitment an upgrade that allows you to purchase an additional unit each round. Similarly, the left tower, the Research Center has the Field Recovery an upgrade with which you can start selling units. Both of these upgrades are a must for every match; without Mass Recruiting, you’ll be stuck with only two units each round while your opponent may have access to three, and without Field Recovery you won’t be able to sell any units, even if you bought one by mistake.
Take advantage of Sides

One of the best strategies I learned is to take advantage of flanking after the first round. Most players focus their units in the center of the battlefield, but flanking allows you to target the protected units behind, or bypass defenses.
I prefer to deploy aerial or fast moving units in the flank positions because there is a good chance they will take out the enemy control towers, giving you a strong edge at the start of a round. This strategy is a game changer when executed well and can catch your opponent off guard.
Don’t Update Carelessly

Upgrading your units is a necessity in Mechabellum, but it’s not something to do rashly. Not every unit will be worth upgrading. Rather, you should focus on building units that will provide you with long-term value, and get upgrades for the major damage dealers. Some of the best DPS units worth upgrading include Mustangs, Scorpions, Sledhammers, and Fangs.
Choose The Right Specialist

While your victory depends a lot on your units and strategy, the specialist you choose also has an important contribution. Some can provide great early-game advantages like the Elite Specialist while others like the Supply Specialist shine in the late game. I prefer a more aggressive strategy so the Rhino Specialist fits my playstyle well. You need to choose your specialist carefully and use a strategy that takes advantage of their advantages.
