Netflix praises GTA -trilogy remasters for millions of downloads
Netflix told investors, how satisfied they are with the GTA -trilogy remasters again. The company recently arranged its call from the Q4 2024 and reports where a lot was discussed.
Gregory K. Peters, who is the co-general director was asked About the Netflix game department: “How do you rate your progress in the video game space? How did the engagement trends occur? When do you anticipate video games will affect or retention of subscribers?”
In response to these questions, Peters said that “I would say we learned enough and made some good early advances, as we launched games. Sure, Grand Theft Auto, where we drove tens of millions of downloads.
Later in this answer he mentioned that “we want to make more recognizable main titles, whether these are authorized titles like GTA, and we will have more of those great licensed titles to come, which we also look forward to, as domestic titles based on Our IP.
Could this mean that more rock games titles will come to Netflix in the future? Maybe but GTA is the biggest IP of Rockstar and San Andreas alone are wildly popular decades after launch. The trilogy so far has nearly 40 million downloads via Netflix. Gta San Andreas made up the overwhelming majority of them.
This comes after GTA III and Vice City left the streaming service in December last year. However, Gta San Andreas remains part of the subscription for the foreseeable future. So far there has been no indication if/when it is gone.
