New Red Dead Redemption 2 Update Released by Rockstar Games, patch notes

A new and unexpected Red Dead Redemption 2 patch has been released by Rockstar Games. It adds updated support for FSR 2.2, HDR, fixes bugs that fans asked to be fixed and much more.

Despite no new major content updates for years, Rockstar Games continues to release patches and Event Months. These tend to be just to address security and stability issues with the game.

We saw this with the previous update that was released on January 31st. It was released to fix cheaters crashing Red Dead Online lobbies. However, today’s update included more than usual.

From March 19, game version 1.32 launched across all platforms: PC, Xbox One and PS4. It comes in at 1.52GB on Xbox One and 1.047GB on PS4.

Update Highlights

The main parts of this update fans want to know about is the updated AMD FSR support. The game now uses FSR 2.2, up from 2.0. In addition, HDR10+ GAMING support has been added for compatible monitors and graphics cards. In addition to that, the stability issue that causes players to stay in them has been resolved. We know that our readers will be especially happy with that solution.

Below are the patch notes shared by Rockstar support:

Support continues but barely

It’s no surprise that Rockstar Games wants to keep patching the game. Last month, it was the most downloaded PS4 game in the US, Canada and Europe. This is a feat it seems to achieve every time, despite releasing all the way back in 2018.

Fans of this masterpiece are still disappointed as Rockstar stopped producing important new content for this game. Ever since Rockstar Games announced that they would be pulling out of Red Dead Online while GTA VI development was heating up, RDR2 has consistently brought in millions of new players and broken its own records.

Speaking of patches, just a few days ago Rockstar Games rolled out a patch for the PS4 and Switch edition of Red Dead Redemption. Much like the above patch for the sequel, it was only small. You can find out what the update was for here.
