New Red Dead Redemption Patch Released and here’s why

A new Red Dead Redemption patch was released by Rockstar Games and Double 11. Rockstar also provided patch notes for this update giving reasons why it was released.

Back in August of last year, Double 11 studios released a port of Red Dead Redemption for the PS4 and Nintendo Switch. This allowed PlayStation gamers to revisit the beloved title and Nintendo owners a first hand experience of it.

Then we praised the game port on the Switch and were happy to see some nice tweaks on the PlayStation side. However, the launch price was not a fee justified.

The update comes in at 376.5mb on PS4/PS5 for version 1.04. At the time of writing, the size of the Switch update is unknown. It’s great to see that Double 11 has continued to support this title with little improvements. Previously, update 1.03 gave the game a 60FPS mode on PS5, which delighted fans.

Also Rockstar Support published patch notes for this update. We will have the patch notes listed below.

Notes on Red Dead Redemption 1.04 (PS4 / Switch)

  • A Terms of Service (ToS) screen has been added
  • Improvements have been made to the stability of the game

As for the Terms of Service update, this is due to Rockstar merging their Terms of Service and EULA. You can read more about this law change here. This is probably the main reason for the appearance of the update. The second bullet point in the patch notes talks about stability improvements but nothing specific was mentioned.
