Oasis Taming, Feeding and Breeding Guide – ARK Scorched Earth Ascended
An oasis is the largest creature in Scorched Earth, but instead of being in awe of its size and presence, my first instinct was to learn how to make myself its master. On that note, here is a detailed guide on training, breeding and feeding the Oasis in ARK Scorched Earth Ascended.
ARK Scorched Earth Ascended – How to tame, feed and breed an Oasisaurus
Aside from its impressive size, the Oasisaur's advantage lies in its ability to fly and move (albeit slowly) across the map. Thanks to the large oasis biome attached to its back, I created a mobile base on Oasisaur. Similar to the Fasolasuchus, the Oasisaur can bury itself in the sand and hide its body under a seemingly regular oasis area. As a bonus, the resources on it are renewable!
The in-depth tutorial below outlines the steps I took to tame the Oasisaurus, feed it, and my attempts to spawn baby Oasisauruses. If you see an Oasisaurus in the wild but aren't able to interact with it, it means you haven't bought the ARK: Bob's Tall Tales DLC required to tame it.
How to tame an Oasis in ARK Scorched Earth Ascended
Preparing for the training of the Oasis is half the battle. First, you must choose one of your tame creatures and sacrifice it to claim it Dead Essence. Next, dismantle the remains of the dinosaur and take the essence from its inventory before going to find an Oasis to tame.
Oasisaurs roam the desert dunes surrounding the central area of the map. You'll usually spot one Oasis, with slim chances of encountering two on the same map. If you've caught the gist before, you'll have to be quick afterwards the essence expires in 24 hours.

Once you spot an Oasaur, use tools to get to his back. If you have Tek Armor equipped, the jetpack will immediately get you on its back. Alternatively, use a Climber or Crossbow equipped with Grappling to reach the top. To create a selection, you will need the following materials:
- x4 Green Gem
- x2 Mushroom Wood
- x10 Fiber
- x8 Metal Ingot
For the Crossbow and Grappling Hook combo, collect these materials:
- x16 Metal Ingot
- x70 Fiber
- x10 Wood
- x3 Stone Arrow
- x1 Cementing Paste
- x2 Coating
After climbing on top of Oasisaur, enter its lake to access the lake inventory. Place the Death Essence in the inventory and wait a few moments. Soon, waves of flying creatures, incl Vultures, wyvernsand Dimorphodonwill start attacking you.
To fight these waves, you will need a ranged weapon or a gun. Wait until the creatures get close before shooting, as they are difficult to hit at long ranges. Eventually, your deceased tamed creature will reincarnate and enter the Oasisaur's body, thus completing the taming process.
How to feed Oasisaur in ARK Scorched Earth Ascended
Congratulations, you are now the proud owner of the mighty Oasis. Now that you have tamed it, the Oasisaur will acquire a huge appetite that you must satisfy. Otherwise, you will lose it and make the sacrifice of your creation in vain.
To feed the Oasisaurus, you will need Plant pots. You can create a pot using 50 Cement Paste and 10 Stone. Once you have the pots, approach bush and use a shovel to dig. By digging up the bushes, you will fill the pots with soil and plants. It's that simple!

Once you've filled all your pots, approach the Oasisaur and access its inventory. Put all the pots in the Oasisaur's inventory, and it will immediately start eating them.
Here's the deal: the Oasisaur starts at level 1, which means it only needs a little food at first. But as it levels off, its appetite will explode. If you don't follow its feeding requirements, it can go through dozens of pots in just 10 seconds. To prevent this, consider teaming up with a friend to eat the Oasisaurus in shifts.
How to breed Oasis in ARK Scorched Earth Ascended
Unfortunately, there is no way to breed Oasaurs. I'm guessing that due to their size, the map couldn't handle more than two Oasisaurus at once, so you'll rarely hit the second Oasisaurus, let alone a female one.
