Red Dead Redemption PC Gets New Updates And Patch Notes
A new Red Dead Redemption patch has just been released by Rockstar Games along with a Christmas themed event month in Red Dead Online. We have all the details on what this update is for as the patch notes have also been shared by the company.
The classic western finally came to PC after more than 14 years in October and since then there hasn’t been much talk from Rockstar about it. No patches have come out as of today, December 3rd. It is small but with only a few improvements and changes. It is a small update in size and is not applicable to the PS4 / PS5 and Switch versions of the game. The patch notes posted by Rockstar Games on their support center are quite obscure but can be found below.
Patch Notes
(December 3, 2024) – General
- Fixed an issue that resulted in exterior lighting not displaying correctly during interior cutscenes
- Improved frame pacing during cutscenes
- Improved Dynamic Resolution Scaling (DRS) functionality
- General fixes and improvements to stability
It’s great to see framerate issues resolved and Dynamic Resolution Scaling improvements. If you find any more issues with the game, please report them to Rockstar through their support site.
With the game being so old now and not really requiring high PC specs to run, performance was mostly great at launch. Although the game offers upscalers like DLSS and FSR, they are much less essential than the sequel of the game. Overall, Double Eleven did a very nice job at putting the game on PC and it is by far the best way to experience the game and DLC.
It will be interesting to see if the PC version makes a splash in the monthly video game charts that will release in the next week or so. It was high on the Steam charts and is a game fans seem to be loving on Steam Deck. Once those hits are released, we’ll be sure to report on them.
