Sand Land Stealth Mode Complete Guide

Stealth missions in Sand Land are a whole different kind of animal. The first one you complete is not too difficult and you can enjoy several of the mechanics that the stealth mode brings to this action RPG. However, as the game progresses, the hidden missions become more complex, including new elements that you may not have encountered in the previous mission.

How to use stealth mode in Sand Land

When a stealth mission starts – or you want to slip into stealth mode for fun – you can choose to enter stealth mode by pressing B on your keyboard or L2/LT on your controller. You don't need to be on a stealth mission to use stealth tactics. You can be as sneaky or loud as you like around peaceful areas without attracting unwanted attention.

The best way to use this stealth mode is to hide behind objects and stay out of sight. Stealth mode in Sand Land is basically a crouching ability; although it's less crouching and more bending to tilt your head a bit.

You are first introduced to stealth as you play a Thief and steal water and food from the first town you reach after leaving Demon Village. While running around in a Santa Clause outfit is definitely hilarious, that stealth mission gives you a good idea of how the stealth mechanic works in Sandland.

How to sneak past enemies in Sandland

While using stealth mode during missions in Sand Land, you will notice that your enemies have an alert indicator above their heads in the shape of an inverted triangle. This is white when they have no idea you're there (they have their back to you, they're facing or walking away), yellow when you're a little more visible (they're in front of you but far enough away that you can make it out) , or red (you can and will be spotted).

Another indicator used is the question mark symbol. If this appears at all, a nearby enemy has begun to notice you. The longer you stay in their line of sight, the more color fills the question mark until it fills up and turns into an exclamation mark.

You're in trouble if that happens.

But actually, you're not. Because the stealth mechanic of Sand Land is very easy and the game is very forgiving. Instead of being attacked, you'll just get a drain and be dropped back at your last checkpoint.

How to prevent enemies from noticing you in Stealth Mode

To prevent enemies from noticing you in Sand Land, you will have to use various stealth techniques. This includes using stealth mode to crouch behind objects and sneak around corners, dive under fences and tent poles with a gap in them, and crawl through cargo boxes.

You can also quickly run between one hideout and another if the distance is short enough. Use any ladders and wires you see to get around an area using the rooftops rather than the ground. Stealth missions will have you use a combination of all these techniques to complete the mission without getting caught.

Kill enemies in stealth mode

The other important stealth kill that the game teaches you about is stealth kill. It's kind of weird, actually, because you have to come out of stealth mode right behind your target to then press the key or button that kills them. On a PC, this is the F key, and it's the Triangle or Y button for a controller.

Pressing this key or button will make Beezlebub jump up in a crotch position, and the enemy will scream with a horrible face and fall. Whether it actually kills them or not…I couldn't say. I have no idea what's going on there and I'm not sure I want to know.

That's all there is to stealth mode in Sand Land. Enjoy… scaring people to death? I don't know.
