So that’s where my Robux went: Roblox sees 893.5 million revenue increase
Global gaming platform Roblox enjoyed a fantastic second quarter this year, reporting a significant increase in its revenue and player engagement. The company brings millions of people together through its online platform, so it’s no surprise to see such impressive growth as more users log in to create games, enjoy shared experiences, or just cozy up around the virtual fireplace in games like Cabin Roleplay.
Roblox’s revenue in the second quarter of 2024 (April – June) reached $893.5 million, which is a 31% increase compared to the same quarter last year. But it’s not just Roblox’s finances that are increasing.
The average daily active users count for Roblox climbed another 21% year over year to 79.5 million users. Users spend 17.4 billion hours on the platform, which is a 24% increase from 2023. The average number of monthly unique payers also grew by 22% to 16.5 million.
David Baszucki, founder and CEO of Roblox, attributes this success to the unique and global appeal of the platform and promises continued investment in it for “better and safer experiences.”
For the third quarter, Roblox Corporation reported forecasted revenue between $860 million and $885 million, with a net loss between $255 million and $275 million. This is slightly more than the Q2 2024 net loss of $207.2 million, with revenue that is less than the reported Q2 revenue, so it is possible that Roblox will see less of an increase in the third quarter this year.
