TEKKEN 8 Latest Patch Notes 1.03.01 March 2024

Tekken 8 introduced a lot of new features wrapped in the good old packaging, bringing us the longest running story in any fighting game. But the launch was not without glitches, and as the developers are working hard to fix every corner of the game, we will see what new things are patched in the latest update.

Details as follows:

  • New playable character 'EDDY GORDO'
    • 72-hour early access provided to owners of the Playable Character Year 1 Pass.
    • Playable Character Year 1 Pass is included in the following:
      • 「Tekken 8 Deluxe Edition Upgrade Pack」
      • 「TEKKEN 8 Ultimate Edition」
      • 「TEKKEN 8 Deluxe Edition」
  • New feature TEKKEN FIGHT PASS added to the TEKKEN SHOP
    • During the specified period, players can increase their level by completing daily and weekly missions in online matches, allowing them to obtain various items.
    • In the PREMIUM level, where items are even more luxurious, players can also obtain TEKKEN COINS, which can be exchanged for various items in the TEKKEN SHOP.
  • New items added to the TEKKEN SHOP
    • New “Cyber ​​Pack 01” and “Cyber ​​Pack 02” costumes available for all playable characters.

  • Functional improvements, Bug fixes.
    • Functionality has been added to RANKED MATCH, QUICK MATCH and GROUP MATCH modes to allow the termination and invalidation of matches if the network connection quality drops below certain specified conditions.
    • An indication has been added to the counter screen in PLAYER MATCH mode to show when the stage is randomly selected.
    • A QUIT option has been added to the MAIN MENU to allow the game to be quit from sources other than the options menu (Steam version only).
  • Movement behavior/properties will be adjusted for some characters.
    • In version 1.03, continuing from the previous version 1.02, focus was placed on correcting unintended movement behavior.
    • Update work focused on combat system balance is ongoing, but we are undertaking this with utmost caution by carefully evaluating user gameplay data collected from around the world. Version 1.04 is scheduled for release in May after the conclusion of EVO Japan 2024.
    • Version 1.04 will mainly focus on sandblasting characters who have not been able to fully show their uniqueness. However, adjustments to certain movements that exhibit significant force will also be made.

Scope of Update

The application of the update data will result in the following effect on each mode and function.

  • “DOWNLOADED REPLAYS”, “MY REPLAYS & TIPS”: Replay data from before the update will not be available for replay.
  • “ONLINE REPLAY”: Replay data from before the update will be deleted.
  • “SUPER GHOST BATTLE”, “GHOST MATCH”: Character behavior and movement properties will reflect that of the post-upgrade state.

Scope of Update

common Special Style behavior Fixed the issue where the trigger of certain moves would be delayed by 1 frame while buffering attack input while still in recovery.
common Balcony Break behavior Due to an issue where using a specific move caused the Balcony Break to occur and the characters went outside the battle area, adjustments were made to the push rail collision detection.
Alice During Destructive Form Another one In Practice Mode, fixed the issue where frame advantage was not displayed accurately. Originally, it showed “+8F” on a block, but the correct value is “+5F”.
Devil Jin * s on a stroke Down – Changed the damage distribution from “10.20” to “7.14.” – Reduced the forward movement of the first hit to shorten its range. – Fixed an issue where the distance between the character and the opponent only increased when also inserting the second hit.
Devil Jin During Mourning Crow IP.- CC) Down – Reduced the duration of the attack by “1F” so that it is less likely to hit against knocking opponents aside. – Changed the damage from “25” to “20.” – Modify the chip damage on a block from “10” to “6.”
