What do the red and green arrows mean in Brighter Shores?
Brighter Shores is an all-new, point-and-click explorer inspired by the popular massively multiplayer online game (MMORPG) Runescape. You can discover multiple areas, professions, weapons, activities, and even interact with other players in the open world. You’re not alone if you’re wondering what the red and green arrows mean.
What are the red and green arrows next to someone’s name in Brighter Shores?
After completing the early training, you will be able to see real players in Hopeport. These can be random online players nearby or even your friends. Above the heads of the players, you can often see red or green arrows and other symbols. These arrows indicate the equipment level and whether they are average, above average, or below average compared to their level. The symbols next to the player’s name indicate the player’s faction. You can check this in detail through the Community menu, here’s how:
- Click on the Community tab at the bottom right or just press C on your keyboard.
- Open the Nearby Players section From the list, select the player you want to inspect and click Info. This will reveal the player’s stats including faction, guard level, equipment and vulnerability.
- You can see that the player has red arrow pointing down in the second image above. This most likely means their equipment is poor for their level.
- Equipment may also have a green arrow which means the player has better equipment.
- If you see the fourth picture, you will notice that the equipment says average. This indicates that the equipment is on par with the player’s ranger level.
I do not understand the importance of this statistic or indicator in Brighter Stones. Since there is no PvP yet, there is no point in comparing your equipment stats with other players. Some other players too share the same thought because there is no way to buy armor or weapons as of now.
Another instance where I have seen the red and green arrows is when exchanging armor pieces as you can see in the image above. Here it is quite obvious that arrows indicate in which state one item is better compared to the other, so the arrows basically work as a comparison tool in this case. If you’ve found new armor or weapons, check if they’re worth replacing with your current weapon using the stats comparison screen.
