The First Descendant is a free-to-play heist shooter where players can take on solo and co-op missions in their game. Released on June 30, 2024, The First Descendant actually has two distinct leveling elements to it, and you’ll need both to be able to build a first-class Descendant.
The maximum Descendant level in The First Descendant
Your Descendant level is tied directly to the Descendant you are playing. If you got past the first couple of missions and went to the base, you probably had a quick peak at your inventory screen and clicked out of it almost immediately – I get it, that’s a lot of information and the game. is not very intuitive for new players.
However, you will see your Descendant’s level on the inventory screen, right below your username – your username is taken from your Steam account if that’s where you installed The First Descendant from. You can also find your current level on the Descendant screen.
The maximum Descendant level for any of your unlocked Descendants is level 40.
The maximum Major in The First Descendant
Your Master’s degree is separate from your Graduate level. This rank only goes up to level 30and it gives you in-game benefits, such as increasing your storage capacity, Descending module capacity and weapon module capacity.
It is important to level up both your Origin Level and your Mastery Rank while playing. Your Descendant Level gives you small stat increases as you level up, and also gives you access to various abilities for your Descendant to use.
On the other hand, your Master Rank allows you to upgrade your Descendant and their weapons giving you more mod slots to play with. At the start of the game, these are limited in number – you have eight module slots in total for your Descendant, and eight module slots for your weapons. The first couple of Mastery Rank levels are dedicated to increasing your storage, but your module slots increase shortly after that.
